The Fantasy Finds DLC for Two Point Museum allows you to dispatch brave adventurers to the scorching land of Scorched Earth, where dragons wreak havoc across the land. The initial part of this storyline introduces you to the fundamentals of deploying Fantasy Experts and brewing potions, leading up to a climactic battle with a red dragon.
However, when you confront the dragon, the game presents a challenging choice: the dragon’s fiery destruction threatens the nearby villages of Wishfell and Fairydale, which you explored in earlier missions. You can only choose to save one village. Which will it be? Is there a right choice?
How to Battle the Dragon in Two Point Museum
As you begin your adventure on the Scorched Earth map, the dragon can be spotted north of your starting point. However, you must first create a Dragon Tail Potion. Follow the objectives on the map to gather your team of Fantasy Experts, and you’ll unlock the potion recipe.
Once you obtain the recipe, any Fantasy Expert qualified as a Potion Master can whip up a Dragon Tail Potion in your museum’s Workshop. This potion specifically protects against the dragon’s tail attack, and you can brew as many as you want. Using one during an expedition provides a slight increase to your party’s overall Strength and Dexterity. Check out our guide on Fantasy Stats for more details.
The Dragon Tail Potion is essential cargo for confronting the Dragon; even if your team has sufficient stats to evade the Dragon Tail, you can’t initiate the battle without it.
The dragon poses a significant threat; any misstep during this expedition could result in a character going MIA. If your Fantasy Stats fall short against any of the dragon’s attacks, one of your experts will randomly be lost. Ensure your team is well-prepared!
Choosing Between Wishfell and Fairydale
During the expedition to battle the dragon, you’ll encounter a Dilemma halfway through; the mission won’t conclude until you decide to save either Wishfell or Fairydale. The village you choose not to save will be destroyed and removed from the map, replaced by a ruined version featuring new, more challenging events and different rewards.
The destroyed village yields the Tall Tale Tail, a special exhibit; future visits will yield a copy of War Turf. Both are categorized under Canon Fodder.
The original rewards from the destroyed village will be unavailable. While you can find them later in other areas, securing those rewards will take longer and be considerably more perilous. Thus, it’s wise to save the village you’d like to keep sending expeditions to.
Which is the Better Choice?
Fairydale offers the Teanie Kettle and Three-Handed Greatsword exhibits, while Wishfell features the Bolt Buckle Boots and Halvenhaf Tapestry. The Greatsword and Tapestry are relatively basic, although the Tapestry comprises multiple parts. If you decide to sacrifice Wishfell, aim to complete the Tapestry first. The big question is whether you prefer to maintain access to the Kettle or the Boots.
The Teanie Kettle occasionally grants guests’ wishes, boosting Happiness in a randomly selected category. While useful, it’s not a must-have. However, be cautious, as like most Enchanted exhibits, neglecting the Kettle can lead it to turn grumpy and inflict debuffs on guests.
The Bolt Buckle Boots can be equipped to a staff member to significantly enhance their movement speed around the museum, though doing so requires more frequent breaks. When worn by a Fantasy Expert, the Boots will also boost their Dexterity by five. However, like all Mythical Gear, the Bolt Buckle Boots do not provide any Buzz while worn.
All exhibits from Wishfell and Fairydale are non-unique, allowing you to stock up on multiple copies before facing the Dragon.
Of the two, the Bolt Buckle Boots are the more beneficial, as they’ll facilitate your progress through the remaining challenges in Scorched Earth. Dexterity is crucial for many Points of Interest, so securing the Boots is wise in case your existing pairs get lost. For this reason, we suggest saving Wishfell and letting Fairydale succumb to the dragon.
After you make your choice, you’ll earn the Scorched Earth Achievement/Trophy, one of the three new awards added in the Fantasy Finds DLC.
Where to Find the Exhibits from the Destroyed Village
