When you dive into Revenge of the Savage Planet, you might expect a thrilling adventure across new worlds, aiming to make them suitable for human habitation. However, things take a twist when you wake up after a century in cryosleep, only to find yourself jobless and without any necessary supplies.
At this point, transforming these planets into safe havens has to wait while you focus on basic survival. But just managing to get by can be dull; you need some challenges to make things interesting! One such challenge is the Up, Up, and Boom task. It’s tricky not because of the actions required, but because timing is everything.
How to Unlock the Up, Up, and Boom Challenge
As you progress, the disguised Slappi will reach out with new challenges. They come in sets, with each main challenge containing several sub-challenges to tackle first. Some are straightforward, but others can be quite intricate. Completing these sets opens up a treasure trove of upgrades, making them well worth the effort.
The Up, Up, and Boom challenge is part of the final set and requires you to cover three Babutts in Green Goo simultaneously. While it may sound simple, it demands more finesse than you might realize.
How to Complete the Up, Up, and Boom Challenge
First, you’ll need to locate some Babutts, which can be found only on Quasadron IX, particularly in the Babutt Kingdom area. There’s a teleporter close to this region, so start from there. Babutts usually gather in groups, but they can be spaced out enough that one may not alert the others if it gets agitated.
So, what does this challenge entail? Babutts breathe fire from their faces. Coating them with Green Goo prevents their flames from escaping, but they won’t stop trying. This leads to them attempting to breathe fire through the goo, causing them to rise like hot air balloons, which culminates in an explosion.
The challenge stipulates that you must coat three Babutts at once. Fortunately, there’s a bit of leeway. You have until the first Babutt explodes to coat the last one. As long as the third Babutt is fully covered in Green Goo before the first one goes off, you’re good to go.
Be cautious while engaging with them; the Green Goo can also cause their fire trails to explode.
A great strategy to keep all the Babutts clustered together is to use some Bait. If you attach it to one of them, the others will gather around that Babutt, giving you a better chance to coat all three without the need to search for more.
