Completing the Challenge: Solving the Misty Threat in Infinity Nikki

Infinity Nikki is all about showcasing your style, even when battling tough enemies. One of the main challenges you’ll face is the boss known as The Thing In The Mist, located on the Serenity Islands.

After you handle the first phase of the battle, don’t get too comfortable—the encounter quickly ramps up in difficulty. The boss, resembling a conductor, not only sends minions your way but also takes direct action against Nikki. It’s essential to stay alert and strategic as you approach him to launch your attacks.

Unlocking The Thing In The Mist Boss

You can unlock The Thing In The Mist boss during Chapter 2 of the Serenity Island questline. Complete the quest titled Contamination, Yet A Trace to access Thunder Rumbles Through The Mist, where you’ll venture into a cavern. At the end of this cavern, you’ll find yourself transported to a mysterious place for the confrontation.

Defeating The Thing In The Mist

In the first phase, the boss will send Esselings to you while attacking simultaneously. You need to evade his strikes and take down all the enemies in the area. This happens several times, leading to a corrupted state of The Thing In The Mist, marking the start of the second phase.

During the initial phase, the boss uses long-range attacks, including slashes, projectiles, tornadoes, and orbs. Pay close attention to their movements to avoid getting hit.

Make sure to wear the Floral Gliding outfit before the second phase kicks in. You’ll definitely benefit from it!

Next, you’ll actually face the boss instead of just the minions. Since it’s floating high above, you’ll need to glide to reach it. Once you’re directly over its head, dive down to inflict damage. You’ll need to strike it three times, which can be tricky as the boss becomes increasingly aggressive.

Time your attacks for when the boss pauses after its aggressive moves.

Attack	How To Avoid
The boss will send several tornadoes in your direction.	If you’re in your Floral Gliding outfit, try to move past them to avoid getting hit.
The boss will unleash a series of orbs in quick succession.	Keep moving in the opposite direction of their flight path to avoid collision.
The boss performs rapid slashes with its staff and may shoot them at you as well.	This attack is quite aggressive and difficult to avoid, so don’t attempt to strike the boss while it’s slashing.
When its health is low, the boss summons a multitude of orbs that will attack you with projectiles.	Stay in the center and don’t rush into the barrage of projectiles; they will eventually dissipate.

Rewards for Defeating The Thing In The Mist

Upon defeating the boss, you will receive a Rare Piece called Gentle Guidance, a five-star handheld accessory. To craft it, you’ll need the following materials:
