The fascinating universe of Deltarune is packed with playful and engaging characters. In the third chapter of this classic RPG, Kris, Susie, and Ralsei get caught up in a game show called “It’s TV Time!” which is hosted by Tenna, a living TV set.
Throughout the show, Tenna frequently shouts at his team and often calls for his co-worker, Mike, who never appears on screen. This creates a sense of his dependence on Mike. If you return to Castle Town, you’ll notice a building with a prominent “TV” sign. Inside, you’ll find a long corridor that ends with a door labeled “Mike.”
Finding and Unlocking Mike’s Door
Mike’s door is located at the end of a hallway in the TV building, situated above the Cafe in Castle Town. At the start of chapter four, you can explore this area. However, you’ll discover that you need a special code to unlock the door.
If you find the door taped up, it could mean you haven’t recruited enough of the workers from Tenna’s game show in chapter three. To recruit them, engage in fights and spare or pacify them instead of defeating them. You will also have opportunities to recruit some while advancing in the storyline.
To obtain the code, complete chapter four. After defeating the boss and finishing the credits, reload your save file from the chapter. This will take you to an area just before the final boss fight, where you’ll notice a red teardrop object near some steps by the save point.
Interact with the red teardrop to return to the previous save point. Once there, you’ll find a pink teardrop; interact with it to go back to the start. You’ll end up in front of a large door, and next to it, there’s a green teardrop. Walk right past it until a spotlight guides you back to Castle Town.
When you arrive back in Castle Town, Ralsei and Susie won’t be with you, so get ready to face what’s next alone.
Once in Castle Town, you’ll see that all other paths and buildings are blocked. Head north, past the Cafe, and make your way to the TV building. Search for Mike’s door at the end of the hallway. Next to it, you’ll find a note with the code “6453” on it. Enter this code to unlock Mike’s door.
Accessing Mike’s Inner Room
Upon entering Mike’s door, you’ll find another long corridor. Proceed to the end, where a small cat statue awaits. Pet this statue to open up another hallway. In this new corridor, you’ll notice a room up north blocked by tall cat statues that are too high to reach.
To get past them, go right into another hallway. Here, there’s a tall cat statue near the entrance, along with various hats hanging on the wall. Walk to the end to encounter a frightened mouse near a cat statue. Pet the statue, scaring it away, and the grateful mouse will transform into a stretchable arm that can help you reach items that are out of reach.
You can use this arm to grab different hats in the room and place them on Kris’ head.
Before you head back to the western hallway, don’t forget to pet the tall cat statue in this corridor to uncover a treasure chest. When you’re ready, return to the hallway and pet the tall cat statues blocking the way. Enter the room above you, where you’ll find a save point, a large microphone, and another door bearing the name “Mike.”
Use the large microphone to adjust the mic settings, setting it to an active mic connected to your computer. Also, modify the sensitivity to suit your speaking volume.
Adjust the sensitivity so you can control the audio input comfortably with your voice. If it’s too sensitive, the input will max out too easily, and if it’s not sensitive enough, you might need to yell to achieve the desired volume. Ideally, your normal speaking volume should hit the top of the green bar.
Once you’ve set your mic to your satisfaction, approach the door above you. You’ll need to fill it with color using your voice, requiring maximum volume to unlock. When it’s fully lit up, you can enter, but be sure to save beforehand, as there’s a battle waiting just inside.
Defeating Mike
As hinted at earlier, you’ll be using your mic in the showdown against Mike. Control your voice volume carefully to dodge his attacks. You’ll also have to utilize the arm you picked up to pet various enemies in this fight.
Phase One of Mike’s Battle
In the first phase, the volume of your voice determines how high you can jump. Keep your voice at a steady volume to maintain your height; becoming silent will cause you to drop.
First Attack |
Signboards will appear at the top. When it reads “Applause,” shout as loud as you can to dodge the mics below. If it says “Shut Up,” stay silent to avoid the mics above. |
Second Attack |
Mics will come towards you from the right and will vary in height, so you’ll need to adjust your volume accurately to evade them. |
Phase Two of Mike’s Battle
During the second phase, Mike takes a break and is replaced by a substitute: a cat named Mike. You’ll again need to control your volume for jumps and use the mouse hand to pet the various cats on the screen.
First Attack |
Multiple small cats approach you from different angles. Use your mouse hand to pet them away. |
Second Attack |
Large sleeping cats will be positioned in the corners. As time goes by, they’ll turn darker; pet them to soothe them. |
Third Attack |
This attack combines the second attack from the first phase, as well as cat pillars coming from the right. You’ll need to dodge while petting them. |
Phase Three of Mike’s Battle
Next, you will face Big Mouth Mike. In this phase, your voice will guide you across a horizontal line.
First Attack |
A red light will flicker, indicating where a paw may strike from above or below. Use your voice to find a safe position. |
Second Attack |
Small paws will begin to fall from above. Use your voice to steer clear of them. |
Third Attack |
This is a tougher version of the first attack, with two paws striking at once. |
Phase Four of Mike’s Battle
In the final phase, you’ll be battling all three iterations of Mike at once, and their attacks will mesh together.
First Attack |
Move along the horizontal line to pet incoming cats and place blue cats on the bed. |
Second Attack |
Avoid large paws while petting the massive cats at the edges of the line. |
Third Attack |
Avoid the three Mikes while petting them to inflict damage. Also, pet the large cats to keep them from attacking you. |
After defeating Mike, his room will be transformed into a space filled with mini-games that you can enjoy using the gameplay mechanics you’ve learned.
