In Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, you’ll encounter countless foes to defeat, each offering a chance to showcase your combat skills. These enemies can be found throughout the world or hidden in dungeons and caves across Avalon. Additionally, you can take on optional bosses for unique rewards and advantages.
One of the first optional bosses you’ll meet is Abigor, who challenges you to a duel. Accepting his invitation is a tough task, as he’s a formidable opponent. However, with our tips, you can not only face him head-on but also secure some impressive loot early in your journey.
Where to Locate Abigor
Upon arriving at the Horns of the South, head west along the pathway toward the keep. Just past the initial ruined gate, you’ll discover a man in full armor sitting among the remnants of an old marketplace. Alone, lit only by a lantern, he’s open to conversation.
Abigor shares his story, explaining how he once served a lady who kept him close. However, he claims he’s now been dismissed and seeks a duel. He offers you the chance for a swift and honorable end (which is certainly better than what the Red Death has in store).
Should You Defeat Abigor?
This fight may seem optional, but it’s definitely worth the effort. Though Abigor is tough, he carries some impressive gear that will aid you as you navigate the first act of the game.
Armed with a glowing red sword and an enchanted shield, you’ll need to devise a strategy. Avoid getting too close, and instead use your distance to your advantage with throwing knives. While some may hit his shield, many will land effectively.
Consider casting spells to summon allies for assistance or draining Abigor’s health to restore yours as you wait for your stamina to recharge.
Once you’ve defeated Abigor, be sure to loot his body for his gear. Upon examining his items, you’ll find that Abigor was likely affected by the Red Death, explaining his isolation and desire for battle. Defeating him can be seen as an honorable end after his years of service, so don’t have any regrets.
You’ll acquire the following items from the fallen knight—put them to good use:
- Duel Knight Armor
- Honorary Blade
- Duel Shield
The armor is quite heavy, so you may need to wait before you can equip it all.
