In Dune: Awakening, after you unlock a class’s skill tree, you’ll find advanced trainers across Arrakis. These trainers can help you access the next level of skills. Start by locating the trainers and completing an introductory contract. Once that’s done, you can take on more contracts to gain additional skills.
The Trooper class is excellent in Dune: Awakening, especially with the advanced skills available. Since most combat is ranged, focusing on this skill tree is beneficial. Here’s how to locate the advanced Trooper trainer and begin your training.
How To Start The Advanced Trooper Quest
To kick off the advanced Trooper quest, you first need to unlock the Trooper skill tree if you haven’t done so already. You can accomplish this by visiting Griffin’s Reach and chatting with the trainer there.
Next, make your way to Arrakeen to meet the advanced Trooper trainer, a woman named Kara. You’ll find her on the second floor, in front of ornate doors with a suspensor light above her.
Just talk to Kara to initiate the advanced Trooper quest.
The dialogue with Kara is lengthy because she’ll initially resist your request for training. Keep selecting options to keep the conversation going, and she will eventually provide you with a contract.
How To Find The Transmitters
The first task in Kara’s quest is to locate some transmitters to support her Semuta habit. She’ll mark the location of a slaver’s base called the Sweep, located just north of the Eastern Vermillius Gap.
Infiltrating The Sweep
Travel to this location and enter the base. Prepare yourself for combat, as you’ll encounter numerous enemies.
Ascend to the top floor and search for an open book on a table next to a lamp. Reading it will provide intel on the transmitters.
If you don’t have a Holtzman Shield, this is a good time to make one before proceeding with the quest.
Return To Kara
Once you have the information, eliminate the enemies to find two transmitters on their bodies. Collect them and return to Kara in Arrakeen.
Completing this quest will require several trips back to Arrakeen. Ensure you have an ornithopter or enough Solari for transportation.
How To Find Tuco
Unfortunately, upon returning to Arrakeen, you might realize that the transmitters don’t function for Kara. You’ll now need to contact Tuco, a connection of hers, to find operational ones.
Harko Village
To find Tuco, head to Harko Village. Kara will mention that if Tuco doesn’t show up, the bartender at Hannivar’s should have information on his whereabouts.
Before you proceed, remember the passphrase that Kara gives you to interact with the bartender at Hannivar’s.
Visit Harko Village and head to the location on your map in the back of the town square. If Tuco is not there, continue to Hannivar’s to advance the quest.
Hannivar’s
Go to Hannivar’s, which should be indicated on your map, and talk to Anoushka, the bartender.
Share the passphrase you received from Kara to ask about Tuco. She’ll inform you that you need his coordinates from a ledger in the back room.
Check the designated area in Hannivar’s and read the book.
While you’re in Harko Village, consider finding the advanced swordmaster to begin that quest too; they’re located in the back alley behind Hannivar’s.
Return to Anoushka, and she will mark Tuco’s location on your map.
Finding Tuco
Now, you’ll need to locate Tuco’s stash, which is on the west side of Jabal Eifrit as marked on your map.
Before heading out, make sure you’ve built either a Vehicle Resource Scanner or a Handheld Resource Scanner, as you will need one to complete this quest.
Once at the stash, you’ll find it empty—Tuco is gone, along with his supplies. Use your Resource Scanner to examine the area.
This will uncover footprints leading into the Hagga Rift, revealing a new quest location on your map.
The Hagga Rift
Finding Tuco in the Hagga Rift can be tricky, as the quest marker isn’t particularly helpful.
Instead of following the marker, head toward CHOAM Mineral Extraction Facility #6 (use a Survey Probe to discover it).
Once inside the facility, take out the enemies you encounter. You’ll then reach a radiation zone; make sure you’re wearing a Holtzman Shield or a radiation suit.
If you don’t have protective gear, be quick to find Tuco inside to avoid taking damage from radiation.
Enter the radiation area and look for a crashed sandbike and a hanging body. This is Tuco and the remnants of his stash. Simply interact with the body, then return to Kara to finish the advanced Trooper quest.
Once you complete this quest, Kara will offer additional training contracts to help enhance your Trooper skills further.
