Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon takes place 600 years after King Arthur’s reign. In a world where the Wyrd has been defeated and Kamelot was built, a dark force threatens to engulf the land and throw it into chaos. You play as an ordinary person afflicted by the red plague.
As you embark on this journey, you will encounter numerous side quests. Embrace your adventurous side as you explore a world filled with forgotten secrets, forge new alliances, and perhaps save the land from impending doom. One important location you’ll find is the Harpist’s Tomb.
Finding the Harpist’s Tomb
To locate the Harpist’s Tomb, head north from the Horns of the South. You’ll arrive at a gate that leads to Cuanacht. Go through the passage and continue north onto the rocky area to discover the tomb.
This site is unique as it unlocks one of two paths based on the time of day. Here lie two sisters, with one in the day chamber surrounded by riches, and the other secluded in the night chamber with nothing.
Tip: Use your campfire to wait through the day so you can access both sections of the tomb.
The Day Tomb
You’re most likely to reach this tomb during daylight. Once inside, take the left corridor and descend the steps to the left.
Remember to search thoroughly for treasures! You can collect the Starborn Egg and an Origin Potion.
In the antechamber, you’ll encounter Aine’s ghost, a once-prominent musician who was killed by her sister. She will summon spirits of Greed and Pride that you need to defeat before she shares her story and wishes.
Warning: These spirits resemble Wyrdspawn monsters and can be quite formidable.
Once they’ve been vanquished, Aine finds peace. She asks you to bury her remains with her sister, marking the start of your quest.
The Night Tomb
After 10 PM, the Wyrd hours, return to the tomb. Take the right path and go down the stairs to meet Aideen.
While there’s no treasure here, you can gather flowers.
If you mention talking to her sister, Aideen will accuse you of lying and summon the spirits of Envy and Wrath to defend herself, similar to the previous encounter. Dispatch them swiftly.
Like her sister, Aideen wishes to be buried alongside her but asks you to take them far from their grim resting place.
Where to Bury the Sisters’ Ashes
Exit the tomb and move south past the lower city in Cuanacht until you spot a large, pink flowering tree. Be ready to deal with a swarm of infected creatures outside the city.
Nearby is a deserter named Sir Vaelin, who might give you some trouble. Keep your distance or equip a shield to defend against his attacks.
Tip: Once he is defeated, ensure you collect his head!
When ready, approach the base of the pink tree. Here, you can bury the sisters’ remains and create a new grave for them. Completing this task will end the quest, rewarding you with a substantial amount of experience.
