Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s new Adventure Through the Demon Realm DLC brings a fresh experience by letting players control Goku (Mini) outside of traditional fighting mechanics for the first time.
Although this mini version of Goku is impressive with his Power Pole, you’ll want to enhance his abilities to thrive in the Demon Realm. This involves unlocking his Super Saiyan transformations.
How to Unlock Super Saiyan Goku
As you start Kakarot’s Daima DLC, Goku initially won’t have access to his Super Saiyan forms. To unlock them, you must advance through the main storyline. Goku’s Super Saiyan form becomes available shortly after using the Sky Seed for the first time and resting in a cave.
Once you rest, Goku and Glorio will engage in a duel to showcase their power. This showdown pushes Goku to become a Super Saiyan, giving him the edge over Glorio and unlocking the form for future battles. In addition to a new combo string, Super Saiyan enhances Goku’s stats.
At its basic level, Super Saiyan boosts damage by 20%, but it requires Ki to maintain the transformation. When upgraded to Level 2, this increase rises to 35%, and eventually, at Level 3, you can enjoy a substantial 50% buff.
How to Unlock Super Saiyan 2 Goku
To achieve Super Saiyan 2, you must complete the Adventure Through the Demon Realm Part 1 DLC. The DLC wraps up after Goku’s battle with Tamagami Number Three, leading to his transformation into Super Saiyan 2. While you won’t control Super Saiyan 2 during that fight, it will be unlocked after the encounter.
Thus, Super Saiyan 2 serves as a post-game bonus, allowing you to tackle remaining side missions and quests. Similar to the first Super Saiyan form, Super Saiyan 2 introduces a unique combo string and enhances Goku’s overall strength while still draining his Ki.
Super Saiyan 2 offers a 50% strength increase at Level 1, 75% at Level 2, and ultimately a remarkable 100% damage boost at Level 3. This advantage comes at the cost of greater Ki consumption compared to Super Saiyan, but it’s an impressive trade-off.
Unfortunately, Kakarot’s Daima DLC won’t include access to Goku’s Super Saiyan 3 or Super Saiyan 4 transformations. Players will need to await the second part of the Adventure Through the Demon Realm DLC set to arrive in early 2026.
