While many areas in Elden Ring Nightreign are pretty straightforward, the Sorcerer’s Rises stand out with their challenging puzzles instead of numerous enemies. For newcomers, navigating these towers can be quite tricky, as the solutions often aren’t immediately clear—especially when you’re in a hurry.
If you can crack the puzzles within these Sorcerer’s Rises, you’ll earn rewards like powerful weapons and talismans that are perfect for spellcasters. If you’re choosing to play as either Recluse or Revenant, this is definitely a place to prioritize. To get in, however, you’ll need to know how to access them first.
How to Access the Sorcerer’s Rise
When you approach a tower, you might encounter a sealed door at the entrance. Some have a seal on the upper floor, especially if you try to enter without solving any required tasks first.
Keep in mind that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution to breaking these seals.
Many players have asked this: if you’ve managed to unlock the puzzle door but are stuck on how to navigate the tower’s interior, just enter the tower. Inside, you’ll see a stack of crystals. You can jump on these crystals and parkour your way up to the higher levels of the tower.
How to Access Towers with a First Floor Seal
Before you hunt for a way to open a sealed door, examine the door itself. If it’s closed at the ground level, the solution will typically fall into one of the categories below:
|
Illusory Door |
If the door appears plain, it’s likely an illusory door. Just walk through it without any further effort. |
|---|---|
|
Gargoyle |
If you spot a gargoyle statue with a book nearby, hit it to open the door. |
|
On the Wall |
Look above the door and on the left side of the building for a circular sigil on the wall. Strike it to activate. This sigil could also be hidden behind a wooden piece; destroy that to uncover it. |
|
Pond |
Check inside the pond for a sigil on the bottom. You’ll need to run or jump over it to destroy it. |
|
Trees |
On the left, you might find rustling trees or a cluster of dead ones. You can dash through the rustling trees, while the dead ones need to be struck. |
|
Moving Tree Trunk |
Keep an eye out for a moving tree trunk around the towers. You’ll have to take it down to free the sigil’s hold on the door. |
There’s also one Mage’s Tower that requires a different approach: The Spirit Spring Rise. If you see a sealed door but nearby spirit springs for jumping, you don’t need to solve any puzzles. Simply use the Spirit Spring to leap to the top.
How to Access Towers with a Second Floor Seal
If you find yourself at a Sorcerer’s Rise with an open door upon arrival, it probably has a seal on the second floor. The methods to unlock these second-floor seals are different from those at ground level and can be a bit trickier. The key is that you’ll find the solution inside the tower.
|
Statue |
When looking at the crystals from the front entrance, focus on the back right corner. If there’s no statue there, the wall is likely illusory. Hit it to reveal the hidden sigil. |
|---|---|
|
Unlit Candle |
If you spot a statue in the back right corner, look behind you to the left. If there’s an unlit candle on the wall, strike it, and then destroy the sigil that appears when the candle lights. |
|
Second Floor Back Wall |
If nothing above applies, turn around and see if there’s a sigil on the back wall you can hit. |
Also, check out the Ruined Rises. These are similar to regular Sorcerer’s Rises but are covered in crystals. You’ll typically find a sealed door on the upper floor, which will require finding several sigils, possibly using a mix of methods from those discussed above, with some variations—such as the sigil for the pond solution being located on the wall of the Rise above the pond.
