As you dive into the world of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, you’ll uncover mysteries and meet a variety of new characters. Some of these may even be the gods of Azuma, who surprisingly live among the villagers and can become your companions.
One such character, Matsuri, is the second god you encounter early in the main storyline. Once you unlock her and build your friendship, you can take her into battle and even pursue marriage if the situation is right. Here’s a quick guide to help you navigate this process efficiently.
Getting to Know Matsuri
Matsuri resides in Summer Village and celebrates her birthday on Summer 1st. After resolving the issues in Spring Village, your next mission takes you to Summer Village, where you’ll quickly meet villagers in need of assistance. This eventually leads you on a quest to find a sword relic hidden within the Summer God’s shrine.
Once you retrieve and repair this relic, Matsuri will become available to you. While you’ll learn more about village management, you can also start building your bond with her right away. She rewards you with the Sacred Sword, an invaluable item for your journey.
Tip
The Sacred Sword is among the best weapons in the game, especially if you keep your RP (Rune Points) high.
After Matsuri is unlocked, you can regularly find her near the Summer God Shrine at the beginning of each day. This is a great opportunity to boost your bond daily. You can also find her wandering around Spring and Autumn Villages throughout the day.
Gifts and Activities for Building Bond with Matsuri
To enhance your bond with Matsuri, there are several activities to consider. Talk to her every day, use your Plum Branch near her, invite her into combat, complete her requests, and spend quality time together. The latter is particularly effective for increasing your friendship!
Typically, giving a neutral gift will boost your bond by eight points, while liked gifts can provide 16 points, and loved gifts offer 29 points. Moreover, engaging in favored hangouts will grant you additional bond points. Here are some excellent gifts and hangout options for Matsuri:
