Mecha Break offers extensive customization options for your Striker (mecha). What’s a mech game without the ability to tailor your look and performance? You’ll have choices that do more than just change how your mech appears; you can also improve specific stats to give yourself an edge in gameplay.
This is where mods come into play. These modifiers can be applied to various parts of your Striker, boosting stats while also introducing some trade-offs. But first, you have to find them. Let’s dive into how to acquire mods in Mecha Break.
What Are Mods?
Mods are modifiers that enhance your Striker’s stats. Typically, each mod will increase one stat while decreasing another. You can apply these mods to five different components of your mech: the Corixium Cascade Engine, Carbotanium Skeleton, Propulsion System, Corixium Muscle, and Mindbridge Cockpit.
Don’t worry if you’re unsure where each mod fits; once you click on any part in the Mods section during Operation Storm, it will display the available mods for that component.
There are four types of mods: Fine (Green), Superb (Blue), Rare (Violet), and Flawless (Yellow). Higher rarity mods offer more benefits.
Mods can only be applied in Mashmak mode (extraction) in Mecha Break. They won’t work in other PVP modes.
How to Acquire Mods
There are three ways to obtain mods while playing Mecha Break.
Loot in Mashmak
Mashmak is the extraction shooter mode where you’re dropped onto a vast map, tasked with defeating AI-controlled enemies and occasionally other players to collect loot. Whenever you vanquish a robot and see a box icon on the screen, it indicates you can loot that item. However, take note that your cargo space is limited to 12 items.
The difficulty you select influences the drop rate of mods upon defeating enemies. Normal gives a 30% chance, Hard gives 60%, and Extreme gives 100%.
Use Mod Assembly
If you have plenty of unused mods in your inventory, you can combine them to create a single higher-quality mod. To do this, head over to the Mod Assembly option located at the bottom left of the Mods menu.
There, you can craft a Superb, Rare, or Flawless mod. Just remember, you’ll need ten mods and some Matrix credits. You can earn these credits by completing challenges in Mashmak or by selling unwanted items.
Spend Corite
While it’s not the best option, if you’re desperate for a Mod Box or looking for a specific mod, you can spend Corite (the game’s premium currency) in the Matrix Marketplace.
Navigate to the Mods section to find Rare Mod Boxes available for purchase. You can also use the Filter option to search for specific mods, selecting the stats you’d like to enhance or decrease.
