Weapon aspects make a comeback in Hades 2, but none of the weapons are the same as before. There’s a new list of original weapons, each with four aspects. Collecting all of these is key to discovering the perfect combo that will stop Chronos and eliminate the danger threatening Olympus.

How to Unlock All Hidden Weapon Aspects
Weapon Aspects are different forms that a weapon can take. The last form, or fourth aspect, is locked behind certain requirements.
To unlock a secret, special aspect, you must follow these steps:
- Unlock all other aspects of the weapon.
- Fully upgrade one aspect that isn’t the basic one (not the Aspect of Melinoe).
- Talk to the Waking Phrase giver (the one who shares the second aspect’s name).
- After receiving the Waking Phrase, interact with the Waking Pool at the center of the weapon’s platform.
- Use materials to purchase the initial forging of the weapon.
Some weapons, like Thanatos’s Axe, might be considered hidden aspects by some players. Instead of the usual incantations, unlocking it involves giving at least one Nectar to Chaos, who then provides the Waking Phrase for Melinoe, and it also requires Darkness.
What Do the Hidden Weapon Aspects Do, and How Do I Upgrade Them?
These aspects are unique because they dramatically change a weapon’s moveset and playstyle. For example, the hidden aspect of the Skull removes the Skull fire limit entirely.
To unlock and upgrade each hidden aspect, you’ll need to learn and master the previous ones first. Luckily, all hidden aspects can be upgraded using Nightmares—usually two Nightmares per level up.
