Sony is finally allowing players to customize their PlayStation 5 Pro consoles starting October 2, 2025, with the launch of Ghost of Yotei.
This news came during the recent Ghost of Yotei State of Play presentation, where Sony shared details about the game, including combat, story elements, and exploration. They also announced limited-edition consoles and controllers that will be available with Sucker Punch’s latest game.
You can find the full list of collectibles here. The highlight is the customized Ghost of Yotei-themed plates for the PS5 Pro, which means you won’t need to buy a new console to get them.
Gamers Have Been Waiting For A Way To Make Their PS5 Pros Look Unique
When the PS5 Pro first launched last year, it came in a limited-edition bundle for PlayStation’s 30th anniversary, featuring classic PlayStation gray instead of the usual white plates. This bundle sold out quickly as it was limited to 12,300 units, and scalpers made it difficult for many players to get one.
Since then, there have been no new customizable plates for the PS5 Pro. The existing plates for the PS5 Slim do not fit the Pro version either. This lack of options pushed gamers to seek third-party solutions, leading to custom plates inspired by older PlayStation consoles like the PS2 and PS3.
Now that official Sony plates are available, there is hope for even more color options in the future. At long last, players can customize their console after a long wait.
