Umamusume: Pretty Derby may initially appear to be straightforward, as its core gameplay mechanics do not heavily focus on the main narrative. However, as you delve deeper into the game, you’ll discover its intricacies, especially regarding character training and managing various currencies.

The game features multiple currencies, each serving a distinct purpose. While some currencies might seem less impactful, over time, they contribute significantly to the growth of your characters.

All Premium Currencies in Umamusume: Pretty Derby

In gacha games, premium currencies are crucial for acquiring new characters and support cards in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. Here’s a breakdown of these currencies:

Currency Name

How To Acquire

Usage

Free Carats

Available through all game activities

Use these Carats for single or multi-summons in the Scout section to acquire characters and support cards of varying rarities. Each summon costs 150 Carats. You can also spend them to regenerate Daily Races, TP, and RP, although it’s not the best strategy.

Paid Carats

Purchased with real money

These Carats serve the same purposes as Free Carats but offer an advantage; you can perform one summon each day for only 50 Paid Carats instead of 150.

Star Piece

From the Statue shop or duplicates of characters

These can be used to unlock additional stars for characters, up to a maximum of five stars.

Cleats

Obtained by converting excess support cards

You receive different Cleats based on the rarity of the support card converted, allowing you to purchase various pulls, Dream Glimmer, and other upgrade items in the Cleats shop.

Goddess Statue

Earned by pulling on character banners

Use Goddess Statues in the Statue shop to acquire Star Pieces for characters in your collection. You can obtain up to 25 pieces for each character with one statue, but later it requires two. This cycle continues until you need to spend five Statues on a certain character’s card.

Currency Name

How To Acquire

Usage

Monies

Earned from missions, training, and races

Monies are primarily used to enhance your character’s Potential or the level of your support cards. Early in the game, you can also use them to borrow a player’s Legacy up to three times daily.

SP

Gained from Career Training and Shops

You can also acquire some SP by exchanging Monies in the daily shop. They are used to upgrade your Support Cards to specific levels.

Friend Points

Earned through Team Trials and lending Support Cards

Items like Haru Urara’s Gut SSR support card can be purchased from the Friend Points store.

Club Points

Earned by donating items to your Club

In this shop, you can obtain Star Pieces, SSR Support Cards, and various upgrade items.

Clover

Converted from pity when banners reset

You usually want to avoid accumulating Clovers in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, but if you have them, you can use them to buy Scout Tickets, Monies, Alarm Clocks, and more.
