Once you unlock the proton whip upgrade in Revenge of the Savage Planet, you can start doing some exciting things, including catching various creatures on Stellaris Prime for your base’s animal pens.

Capturing creatures on Stellaris Prime is also your first step in studying them in your pens, so swing your lasso and grab a few. The more creatures you catch, the better your research will be!

Complete Guide to Stellaris Prime Creatures and Their Locations

Below, you’ll find a list of where to catch each creature on Stellaris Prime. Some are automatically unlocked as you progress through the main story, but others will take extra effort to find if you want to catch them all for the Kindex.

You can start catching creatures on Stellaris Prime as soon as you get the proton whip in the early stages of the game, so be ready to use your lasso to grab some creatures and bring them back for research.

Complete List of Catchable Creatures on Stellaris Prime and How to Catch Them

Creature Name

Location

How to Catch

Brainard

Pfyzzich Beach

Found along the beach near the crash site.

Return after getting the proton whip; these creatures serve as your introduction to collecting carbon for your 3D printer.

Slitherfly

Slarragon Forest and Cliffs of Abaddoon

Nests are visible hanging from structures, and they make a buzzing noise before launching missiles at nearby targets.

Deal with a single Slitherfly by lassoing it, or use your water gun to stun it for an easier capture.

Raccocco

Slarragon Forest

The easiest way to find them is by following the main storyline or locating them near a teleporter close to the forest’s entrance from Nu Florida.

If you avoid attacking them first, Raccocco are simple to catch.

Beetle

Slarragon Forest

Commonly found around cliff sides, especially leading up to the Cliffs of Abadoon.

Stun it by hitting its purple shell before using your lasso, or it may escape.

Fecal Beetle

Slarragon Forest

Found in various spots; you’ll need to defeat a few to access Scuttling Grotto.

Use your whip to destroy the growths on its back to expose its weak point and then stun it by attacking that spot.

Trickle

Slarragon Forest and Chuggler’s Swamp

They emerge from coral-like tube plants when you walk by and can be aggressive.

It’s best to eliminate nearby Trickles first before trying to lasso one remaining creature.

Mito Slime

Slarragon Forest, Chuggler’s Swamp, and Cliffs of Abaddoon

These green slimes leave trails and often attack in groups.

Shoot the larger slime to break it into smaller pieces for easy lassoing.

Alpha Raccocco

Slarragon Forest

Usually found alongside regular Raccocco as their protector.

Make sure not to attack nearby Raccocco to easily catch the Alpha version.

Hognork

Cliffs of Abaddoon

This is a key part of the storyline and cannot be skipped.

Stun it by hitting the weak spot in its mouth before lassoing the Hognork.

The more creatures you capture, the more useful your research will be back at the base. While you can catch the Hognork easily, some creatures require capturing multiple individuals to raise their research rank.
