As you navigate the expansive landscapes of Mexico and Australia in Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, you’ll find yourself delivering various packages. Fortunately, after reaching Australia, the Drawbridge submarine will accompany you almost everywhere, appearing nearby once you establish a connection to the Chiral Network.
This submarine features a private room where you can recharge, take a shower, and boost your stamina. Sam can also relieve himself here whenever he needs, though you have the option to do so outdoors as well, with different rewards depending on your choice.
How to Urinate in Death Stranding 2
When you begin your deliveries, tackling challenging terrain and encountering enemies will be part of the journey. The longer you stay outside, the more you’ll feel the need to take a break, with Sam able to hold up to 1,000ml.
You have a couple of ways to relieve yourself in the game: in your private room or outside. If you choose the private room, simply enter, look at the door, and select the option to use the toilet or shower. Sam will manage the rest automatically.
While holding in your urge doesn’t severely impact the game, you might miss out on rewards if you do.
If you prefer to urinate outside, press the right arrow key on your controller and navigate to the bottom left option on the wheel (marked with a strand symbol). Here, you can see how much Sam is holding and switch mechanics, including urination. To proceed, press the option to urinate, use L2 to aim, and then R2 to begin. Keep in mind that you can’t do this near an outpost.
The Differences Between Urinating Inside and Outside
Where you decide to relieve yourself can lead to different outcomes. If you opt for a shower in your private room, the system will filter some Chiral Crystals from your urine and add them to your inventory.
Conversely, if you choose to urinate outdoors, a mushroom will sprout in that spot, which other players can see and interact with by giving it a like. So, if you’re after some social recognition for your character, relieving yourself outside might be your best bet.
