The Last Caretaker puts you in charge of rebuilding a broken world. You play as a robot assigned to care for a shattered environment. You must explore, scavenge, craft, and sometimes fight to help rebuild humanity. Your choices will determine the future of the world.

To assist in your journey, you’ll have different skills that can be leveled up. These skills act more like blueprints or recipes, letting you craft items to rebuild society in this tough environment. There are 21 skill levels, each unlocking two to eight new blueprints. You need skill points to unlock each blueprint, but you won’t always have enough points for every skill at once. Knowing what’s available at each level helps plan your progression.

Once a skill is learned, the item it unlocks can be crafted at any fabricator as long as you have the right materials.

What Are Skills?

Skills are better described as blueprints. They unlock new crafting recipes. There are 21 levels, with each level revealing several new blueprints. You gain skill points through activities like dismantling items, recycling scraps, crafting, fighting enemies, and completing quests. The experience gain feels slow initially but speeds up quickly. Focus on dismantling, recycling, and crafting early to unlock higher level blueprints before you can use them effectively.

How Do I Level Up Skills?

Gaining experience involves:

  • Dismantling items
  • Recycling scraps
  • Crafting items
  • Fighting enemies
  • Completing quests

Earning experience can be slow at first, but increasing your activities will raise your level faster. Spending time dismantling and recycling from the start allows you to unlock advanced blueprints early.
