Shiny cards have become a key element in Pokémon TCG Pocket, particularly with the introduction of the Shining Revelry and Celestial Guardians booster sets. There are currently nearly 40 shiny variants to collect, featuring popular Pokémon such as Lucario, Blastoise, Machamp, Mewtwo, Charizard, and even the lesser-known Wugtrio.
It’s important to note that shiny cards do not alter the gameplay mechanics; their unique appearance is purely for aesthetic appeal. Just like in the main games, shiny Pokémon are a fun way to show off, and they’re definitely worth chasing. Below, we’ve compiled a list of all the shiny cards available in Pokémon TCG Pocket, along with what you need to know to obtain them.

How to Acquire Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Shiny Pokémon cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket can be found in booster packs, but specifically in the Shining Revelry and Celestial Guardians sets. These shiny cards, however, are quite rare and drop at low rates.
When you open a pack, there are two tiers of shiny cards, each with different drop probabilities. If you don’t happen to get a Rare “God Pack,” the chances of pulling any Tier 1 shiny card are about 3.571%, while Tier 2 shiny cards have a chance of 1.666%. Given these odds, you’ll likely need to open multiple packs to build your shiny collection.
Additionally, there are two special shiny cards that can be earned through unique methods:
- Shiny Mewtwo ex: This promo card is part of the Paid Poke Gold Package available in the shop, meaning you’ll need to spend money to unlock it—no alternatives exist at this time.
- Shiny Cyclizar: This promo card can be obtained as a reward for participating in the ex Starter event, which requires collecting 50 cards before April 27, 2025. If you’re taking on these missions, we have a guide to help with the best ex Starter deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
