After preventing the Uzra from crashing into Vence in Fantasian: Neo Dimension, Leo, Kina, and Cheryl are hailed as heroes of the port town. Your next mission involves locating Leo’s second Toy Box, but there are side quests you can undertake while on your way.
The Researcher side quest requires you to gather samples from the Mechteria-infested area of East Vence, which is typically restricted to the public. Once you gain access to this section of the city, you can begin tracking down the samples. Below, we will explore the locations of each sample needed for the Researcher quest.
How To Start The Researcher Quest
To kick off this side quest, speak with the NPC located inside a house to the west of the save crystal in Central Vence. If you haven’t already accepted the quest, you can find a marker on your map guiding you to it.
Where To Find Every Research Sample In East Vence
Your task is to gather five samples from specific spots in East Vence. Stay cautious while collecting these samples, as being near the Mechteria will gradually deplete your health.
The first sample is located immediately upon entering East Vence, to the left of the fruit vendor’s house near the gondola station.
Continue past the fruit vendor’s house and cross the bridge, where you can find the second sample at the corner. Then, head back towards the second bridge and retrieve the third sample after crossing it.
Use the gondola to access the dock just before the save crystal, and locate the fourth sample to the right of the save crystal. Interacting with this sample will initiate a battle, so ensure your group is prepared beforehand.
The final sample can be found at the end of the path, just outside the entrance to the Midi Toy Box. Collecting this last sample will also trigger another battle.
Once you have all five samples, return to the researcher to submit them and receive an Obsidian, which enables Piercing attacks to bypass a guarding enemy, along with 2,500 gold.
