Acquiring a horse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 involves more than just picking one and jumping on. You must purchase a horse—or discover Pebbles early in the game—and ensure it’s well cared for.
Regular grooming is essential for your horse and its saddle. If you neglect this duty, your horse will accumulate dirt and grime from your adventures, leading to unwanted attention from NPCs. A horse that doesn’t smell great, paired with a poorly kept rider, can make it difficult to excel in skill checks.
How to Wash Your Horse
To clean your horse, you should visit a horse handler. These can be found in both regions of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Talk to the merchant you may have previously purchased a horse from, and select the option to wash your horse. The service starts at 200 Groschen, but you can negotiate the price just like any other transaction. We successfully got the wash for 165 Groschen.
Washing your horse will take one hour in-game. It might be wise to postpone this task if you’re currently engaged in a time-sensitive quest.
How to Find Horse Traders and Grooms
Unfortunately, horse traders are not as plentiful as other merchants in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. However, there are two dependable locations to find them.
Firstly, if you’re in the Trosky region, you can visit the horse trader at the Nomad Camp located in the west. He can wash your horse for you.
Alternatively, you can head to the city of Kuttenberg and look for a horse handler in the southwestern part of town. He goes by the name of Groom and will be seated at a table near a few other horses.
