In *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33*, just before the prologue wraps up, you’ll find yourself alongside Gustave at the Festival De L’Expedition, celebrating with his fellow adventurers. The next day marks the beginning of their adventure across the ocean to confront the Paintress. However, before they embark, you’ll have the chance to chat with everyone, learn more about the game’s universe, and earn some tokens to collect unique early-game items.

There are three tokens to collect. Gustave starts with one, Maelle has another (you’ll need to defeat her in a duel to claim it), and the third is with Antoine. As Gustave’s friend and a fellow historian, Antoine will challenge you to a trivia game for this token. He has three questions, and you can keep answering until you get them right. As a player, you might not know the answers initially, but it’s a fun way to learn about the game’s world. This engaging start is one of the reasons we enjoyed *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33* so much.

When you successfully answer, Antoine will hand over the token you desire, bringing your total to two. For the third token, continue engaging with the festival crowd until Gustave prompts you to find Maelle, who is gazing out to sea near the dock. Defeating her in a slightly tougher version of an earlier tutorial fight will earn you the last token.

So what can you do with your festival tokens? You can trade them with several characters in small tents located on the left side of the festival area. While some items may seem insignificant, they are worth grabbing as they can be beneficial later in the game:

With that, Gustave has made the most of the festival. If you speak to his sister Emma, the story will advance to the following day. Just make sure to collect your tokens first before moving on! Hopefully, earning extra drink tokens for parties is just as simple!
