The latest expansion, **Shining Revelry**, for the **Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket**, brings 110 new cards to the mix, including Shiny Pokémon that can elevate your competitive play. This varied collection allows players to craft formidable decks, with the newly introduced Charizard ex standing out as one of the best due to its high HP and powerful attacks. Strategically designing a deck around this card could be pivotal for advancing in the ranked mode of **Pokémon TCG Pocket**.

When combined with other formidable Fire-type Pokémon, the Shining Revelry Charizard ex can transform you into a formidable opponent. It’s also crucial to select the right trainer, item, and tool cards to effectively counter other strong decks that you might encounter in **Pokémon TCG Pocket**.

Why Shining Revelry Charizard Ex Ranks Among the Top Cards

This Stage Two Card Can Defeat Any Foe

While players might be familiar with the previous Genetic Apex Charizard ex, the Shining Revelry expansion introduces a new iteration of this iconic Pokémon. One standout feature of this Fire-type is its arsenal of attacks. The initial attack, **Stoke**, does not cause damage, but it plays a crucial role in powering up Charizard ex. For just one Fire energy, it enables you to draw three Fire Energy cards from your Energy Zone and attach them to this Pokémon—an essential step towards unleashing its powerful secondary attack.

For optimal play, aim to switch out Moltres ex before it’s eliminated. Equipping Moltres ex with Giant Cape can enhance its resilience. Once your setup is complete, place the somewhat charged Shining Revelry Charizard ex in the Active Spot and use Stoke to completely power up its final attack, Steam Artillery.

Steam Artillery is an expensive attack, requiring a total of five energy—three Fire and two Colorless—to execute. This hefty cost makes it initially challenging to set up, but once deployed, its immense damage output can significantly influence the game, often paving the way to victory. Delivering a staggering 150 damage for attaching five energies allows you to knock out most ex cards in **Pokémon TCG Pocket**. Furthermore, unlike the Genetic Apex version, Shining Revelry Charizard ex does not discard any energy after its attacks.

The newest release in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has officially launched, but it’s not a new shiny that’s gotten everyone’s attention.

Another vital aspect of the Shining Revelry Charizard ex’s success is its remarkable 180 HP. Since Stoke does not inflict damage but requires the card to be in the Active Spot, it needs enough durability to endure at least two attacks. Its 180 HP should generally suffice, but for added protection, the Giant Cape tool card can boost its HP by 20, allowing Charizard ex to remain on the field longer while preparing for Steam Artillery.

A Selection of Fire-Type Cards Strengthens This Deck

To create the most effective Charizard ex deck in **Pokémon TCG Pocket**, both the Shining Revelry and Genetic Apex versions of this Pokémon should be included. The Genetic Apex Charizard ex remains a powerful addition to Fire-type decks, presenting impressive damage potential and a solid 180 HP. Its primary attack, **Slash**, deals 60 damage for three energy—comprising one Fire Energy and two Colorless energies. Moreover, its secondary attack, **Crimson Storm**, hits with 200 damage for four energy, providing sufficient power to clinch victories.

Moltres ex is another essential card in this deck, offering both damage potential and energy efficiency. Its first attack, **Inferno Dance**, allows you to flip three coins; for each heads, you can attach a Fire Energy card to a benched Pokémon. Although this attack depends on chance, it can effectively setup your other cards. The second attack, **Heat Blast**, delivers 70 damage requiring three energy—one Fire and two Colorless—providing reliable damage output when necessary.

Optimal Strategies for the Shining Revelry Charizard Ex Deck

Moltres Ex is Ideal for Leading a Battle

For a top-notch start in a **Pokémon TCG Pocket** match, **place Moltres ex in the Active Spot** and have Charmander on the bench right from the outset. This combination allows you to use **Inferno Dance** and attach energy to Charmander. Consider placing an additional Charmander on the bench to maximize the chances of deploying both Charizard ex variants. From there, utilize **Professor’s Research** to sift through your deck and fetch the necessary cards to bring a Charizard ex into play.

The **Team Rocket Grunt** card lets you flip a coin until you land tails. For each heads, you discard a random energy card from your opponent’s Active Pokémon, helping to disrupt their strategy while you establish your Charizard ex.

For the best gameplay experience, remember to retreat Moltres ex before it gets knocked out. Attaching **Giant Cape** to Moltres ex will enhance its survivability. Once your setup is ready, switch the partially charged Shining Revelry Charizard ex into the Active Spot and use **Stoke** to fuel its final attack, **Steam Artillery**. With its 150 damage output, you’ll deal a decisive blow to your opponent, boosting your chances of winning in **Pokémon TCG Pocket**.
