When you start playing Arc Raiders and get used to the constant danger from enemies on the top level, you might not be collecting a lot of loot to carry down with you. That’s why your storage space in your stash won’t fill up quickly at first. However, as you keep extracting items regularly, this problem will soon become apparent.
Once your stash is full, you won’t be able to add any new items unless you clear some space. The only way to do that is by either using the items you have or by selling and recycling them. While selling and recycling are simple processes, they aren’t always straightforward, so here’s what you need to know.
### How To Sell And Recycle Items
In a game where many traders are available in your hideout, you might think you need to go to them to sell your things. But in Arc Raiders, you don’t have to leave your inventory; you can sell and recycle items directly from there. To do this, open your inventory from the bottom of the main screen or press the relevant button, then find the item you want to get rid of.
Next, right-click on the item or press Triangle/Y on your controller to open the actions menu. From there, you’ll see options to recycle or sell most items, usually at the bottom of the menu. It’s important to select the right items for these actions. For example, some items have a diamond icon in the Misc section, which indicates they are ideal to sell because they aren’t used for anything else.
### Recycling Items
When considering recycling, look for the “Recyclable” tag on an item, which shows that it can be broken down into materials. However, even if an item is marked as recyclable, you should be cautious. For example, a Power Cable can be recycled into Wires, but those Wires are also used for upgrading your stations, which isn’t always clear just from the description.
So, when recycling, think carefully about whether you actually need the materials from that item for upgrades or other purposes. Make sure you’re choosing what’s best based on your current needs.
### Can You Recycle During A Raid?
Even if your inventory isn’t full yet, you might run into problems during a raid because you have limited space and weight capacity—especially early on. Instead of dropping items on the ground, you can recycle some of them during a raid, but this process costs resources. In the game, this salvage option lets you break down items into smaller parts, which takes less space and weight. Keep in mind that the materials gained from salvaging are fewer than what you’d get from recycling in your base.
Although you get fewer items this way, it’s better than losing everything, especially when your inventory slots are tight. If a teammate needs one of those items, it’s often helpful to salvage it for parts instead of discarding it outright.
