When Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is released, it will include 16 maps. These maps will be a mix of brand-new locations and classic areas from previous Black Ops games. We know for sure that Nuketown, one of the oldest maps in the series, will be returning in this new game.
However, there’s a small twist. Nuketown won’t be available right when the game launches. Instead, players will have to wait a bit until it makes its debut during the preseason kickoff.
Nuketown Will Be Available Soon After the Launch
It will be released shortly after the game’s launch date, which is November 14. According to Activision, Nuketown will be accessible on November 20, just a few days into the preseason, which will lead into the first full season of multiplayer content.
Since its first appearance in 2010, Nuketown has been a key map in the Black Ops series. It’s set in Nevada and features two large suburban houses, mirrored for fast-paced action. The small size of the map makes it perfect for quick matches and intense firefights, and it works well with various game modes. Some players find the map a bit outdated after 15 years, but it’s still very popular and often played in a “24/7” playlist.
Even though Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 officially comes out on November 14, Nuketown won’t be part of the initial release. Instead, it will be added on November 20, right at the start of the preseason, which transitions into Season 1.
The Nuketown Tradition Continues
While many players expect Nuketown to be included in every Black Ops game, some are tired of seeing it repeatedly. Its layout has stayed mostly the same over the years, and whenever new events or playlists are introduced, it often becomes the focus again, leading to some frustration.
For now, players can enjoy six days of gameplay without Nuketown before it officially joins the game a few days after release. If you’re not a fan of the map, those days might be a good chance to explore other parts of the game.
