In Abyssus, there are various weapons to choose from, and you can build your character around different ones. However, each run allows you to only use one weapon, so picking the right one is important. When selecting a weapon, consider your playstyle, firearm skills, and other factors.
If you’re a skilled shooter with good aim, the Brine Revolver might be a good choice. It’s a high-damage weapon that demands precise aiming. If you can master it, you’ll clear enemies quickly. Here’s what you should know about building the Brine Revolver.
First, it’s important to know that you won’t start Abyssus with the Brine Revolver. But unlocking it is quite simple. You need to unlock all weapons and abilities except the Engine Rifle. These weapons are typically hidden in different spots during your runs. After finishing the tutorial, go to the workbench on the left side of the lobby. The Brine Revolver is placed on a barrel next to a bench. Just pick it up to unlock the weapon.
The Brine Revolver is a high-damage, precise firearm. Its primary fire fires rapid shots at close range, while its secondary fire provides a scope for accurate, powerful shots. It has six rounds of ammo for both fire modes. The primary fire is unscoped, and the secondary fire is scoped. Use the scope to target weak spots on enemies like bosses and elites for maximum damage. Usually, weak spots glow or are brightly colored.
For the best build, aim to maximize damage if you’re a good marksman. The recommended modules include the Large Caliber for higher damage, especially on weak points, and the Quick Scope for dealing extra damage when firing quickly after scoping. To unlock the Large Caliber, complete an expedition with the Brine Revolver. To unlock the Quick Scope, kill three bosses with a weak spot hit while scoped.
The primary fire with the Large Caliber allows for greater damage, making it ideal for tougher enemies. The secondary fire with the Quick Scope can result in high damage output if you’re skilled at quick shooting. Experiment with different modules to find what fits your playstyle best.
For ability choices, since the Brine Revolver excels at long range, equipping the Anchor as your ability is a good idea. The Anchor is effective at close range, so combining it with the revolver gives you a versatile setup. To unlock the Anchor, you’ll need at least one key to open a randomly generated door in the Gardens.
Aesthetically, aspects are randomly given in each run, but beneficial ones for the Brine Revolver include Shadow, Lightning, and Freeze. Shadow aspects weaken enemies and highlight weak spots for extra damage, boosting overall damage output. Lightning aspects create chain lightning effects that can attack nearby enemies after each shot, improving crowd control. Freeze aspects allow you to freeze enemies, preventing them from attacking or swarming you, especially useful against bosses and elites.
Certain charms are also helpful. Although charms are randomly generated each run, the best options to look out for include Hawkeye, which increases damage the farther you are from your target—great for scoped shots—and Giant Slayer, which adds more damage to bosses and elites. If you get the chance, these charms can significantly boost your effectiveness with the Brine Revolver.
