As we approach the end of the current season in Pokémon GO, the latest event—Final Strike: GO Battle Week—promises plenty of rewards and introduces some new Pokémon. It seems like there’s an event almost every week in Pokémon GO, with varying levels of excitement and usefulness for players. While some long-time fans may have lost interest in the game, the introduction of new Pokémon continues to draw trainers back in.
Following the Crown Clash event, you won’t want to miss Final Strike: GO Battle Week. It’s among the last events of the Might & Mastery season and brings exciting bonuses, new spawns, updated raids, and more to keep players engaged next week. Although the new season launching in June 2025 promises significant changes to Pokémon GO, this event offers fantastic opportunities for both newcomers and returning players.

Dates & Times Of The Event
Final Strike: GO Battle Week is accessible to all Pokémon GO players, and most content is available without purchasing tickets. However, there are two types of paid research tasks: a timed research option and a Fuzzy Fighter Special Research task. Additionally, the event will feature another battle-focused segment based on the GO Battle League, with various classic cups for trainers to compete in.
Players who opt for paid tickets can also earn extra rewards, including an encounter with Dynamax Kubfu.
Whether or not you buy the paid elements, Final Strike: GO Battle Week will take place from Wednesday, May 21, at 10 AM local time through Tuesday, May 27, at 8 PM local time. This gives players ample time to enjoy the increased spawns, raids, and bonuses available during this week.
All Pokémon Debuts & Wild Spawns During Final Strike Event
A New Evolution For Trainers
One of the most exciting highlights of the Final Strike event is the debut of Ursifu in two distinct forms. The Generation 8 Legendary Pokémon Kubfu has been around in Pokémon GO for a while, but it has never been able to evolve until now. Starting from the onset of the Final Strike event, players can evolve Kubfu into either of Ursifu’s forms. It will require 200 Kubfu Candies for the evolution, with specific tasks needed based on which version you wish to unlock.
To evolve Kubfu, you’ll need to have it as your buddy Pokémon to complete the required tasks. To evolve it into Urshifu (Single Strike Style), you must defeat 30 Dark-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles. For Urshifu (Rapid Strike Style), defeat 30 Water-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles. If you switch Kubfu out as your buddy, any progress made towards these challenges will be retained when you select it again.
Additionally, a variety of Pokémon will spawn in the wild more frequently during the event. These include Mankey, Seel, Galarian Zigzagoon, Meditite, and Froakie. All five Pokémon have the chance to appear as shiny variants. If luck is on your side, you may also encounter increased spawns of Deino and Nickit, though at a lower rate than the first five.
All Pokémon Raids During Final Strike Event
New 1 & 3 Star Raids
Throughout the event, the standard raid battles will differ from the Raid Boss lineup for May. The five-star raids will stay the same, but the 1- and 3-star raids will feature new Pokémon. In 1-star raids, trainers can challenge and potentially catch Carvanha, Stunky, and Mareanie. These Pokémon can be easily defeated solo, unlike the more challenging Dynamax Suicune Max Raid, which requires a larger group to succeed.
Max Raids will remain unchanged during the Final Strike Event in Pokémon GO.
The 3-star raids in Pokémon GO will be tougher and may require multiple players or a well-planned team to counter the raid Pokémon effectively. The 3-star raids for the Final Strike event will include Lapras, Hisuian Samurott, and Bombirdier. Since these Pokémon are not frequently featured in Pokémon GO, this is a great opportunity for players who may not have caught one yet. All six updated raid Pokémon could potentially appear in shiny forms following a battle.
All Final Strike Event Rewards
Additional Bonuses And Rewards
Besides the increased spawns and raids, players will enjoy additional benefits during the Final Strike event in Pokémon GO. To encourage participation in more raids, players will receive double XP for any successful raids. This can result in significant XP gains, especially in 5-star legendary raids. There will also be an increased chance to encounter shiny Meditite, shiny Stunky, and shiny Mareanie throughout the event, presenting a fantastic opportunity to add these versions to your Pokédex.
A unique feature will also be introduced in this event, allowing five Pokémon to learn new or rare moves they typically cannot acquire. Any Lapras encountered during raids or field research will know the Charged Attack Ice Beam. Mankey, Seel, Zweilous, and Frogadier’s evolved forms will gain special charged attacks if they are evolved during the event.
As with all events in Pokémon GO, Final Strike: GO Battle Week will add extra items in the in-game store available for purchase using Poke Coins.
Lastly, a wide range of research options during the event will provide further bonuses to players. Field research tasks obtained by spinning PokeStops will yield additional encounters with event Pokémon. There will also be Special Research and Timed Research along with two paid ticketed options. Final Strike: GO Battle Week offers a variety of engaging elements for players in Pokémon GO, and the introduction of Ursifu makes it an event you won’t want to miss.
