The Animated King shows up as a classic birthday clown and lives in the castle on Level 94. You are forced to encounter this entity because the roller coaster in the same room is the only way out of Level 94. When you get close and then look away, it disappears, and the lights turn out. It will try to attack you in the dark if you’re not paying attention. Shine your flashlight on it to scare it off temporarily so you can get on the roller coaster.
The Animations are like human-sized puppets that appear during the night cycle of Level 94. During the daytime parts of Level 94, before reaching the castle, you have to go through an outdoor area with a day and night cycle. The Animations only come out at night and won’t bother you if you’re inside a house at night. To be extra safe, hide under a bed while inside the house overnight. The Animations can still come inside and look for you if they think you’re inside, so hiding under the bed helps keep you safe if that happens.
The Aranea Membri is a large spider-like creature wandering the halls of Level 188. It stays inside the halls and doesn’t enter other rooms. To avoid it, check the hallways carefully before stepping out. If you see it, quickly run back into a room and shut the door to stay safe.
The Bone Thief is found in a dark space near the elevator in a sub-level of Level 55.1 (Level 0.2). It has a big mouth, while lying on its belly and crawling on all fours. If you play Level 55.1 correctly, you shouldn’t meet this entity directly. It hides in a dark area near the elevator. To stay safe, just complete the level and turn on the gate that will block its hiding spot. The gate will stay down for a while, giving you plenty of time to reach the elevator.
The Clump appears during a chase sequence in Level !~! and Level 37.2. It’s made of limbs with a large jaw and is unavoidable during the chase. You need to outrun it by staying ahead during the sequence. In Level 37.2, you might see it wandering—you can avoid it by not getting spotted. If it notices you, run and keep moving to escape.
The Faceling looks like a normal human but without a face. You first see it walking behind you on Level 10, where it comes out from the wheat fields. To scare it away, keep looking behind you. Later, after turning on the first windmill, you’ll encounter a faceless one wielding a chainsaw. You can’t hide from this one; just outrun it by reaching the arcade as quickly as possible.
Female Deathmoths are big moth-like creatures found on Levels 5 and 8. They are extremely dangerous. To avoid them, crouch and sneak past as often as you can. You can use pipes with steam in Level 5 to deter them and create Moth Jelly, but sneaking is usually the best method.
Hounds look like dog-like creatures with human faces and are found on Levels 3 and 5. They are not as threatening but can be annoying. The best way to deal with them is to avoid them when possible. If you must confront one, shine your flashlight on it to stun it and then hide or run away. They also make loud, terrible noises you can listen for to know when they’re nearby.
The Wretch appears as a skinless humanoid, sometimes carrying a crowbar, on Levels 6, 9, and the Abandoned Outpost. In Level 6, the maze is completely dark, so you won’t see it clearly; it appears as a red dot on your radar. You can avoid it by crouching against walls when it passes. On other levels, sneaking or staying out of sight helps. If it sees you, run to the nearest hiding spot, like behind a door or under a bed.
