Atomic Battery Locations in Atomfall: A Complete Guide

In Atomfall, there’s a lot to unpack: various skills, keys, a wide array of weapons, consumables, tools, as well as Training Stimulants and Manuals. One key item to prioritize is the Atomic Battery, which is essential for advancing through the main storyline. Once you’ve obtained a few, you can use them in different machines around The Interchange to further your mission.

However, locating Atomic Batteries isn’t as straightforward as in many other games where quest items are typically found near the quest locations. In Atomfall, while you can find one Battery in The Interchange, discovering others will require some exploration before returning to that area.

Locate The Central Processor Room

Travel northeast (31E 77.8N) to The Interchange. Make your way to the Central Processor room by heading north. You’ll find an Atomic Battery next to a researcher beside a ringing telephone (refer to the image at the top). Use this Battery in the Bootstrap System Terminal located to the left of the researcher. Additionally, you can grab Training Stimulant x3 from the device at the scientist’s feet (look to the northwest).

Time to Gather Supplies

Find your way to the Trader Camp in the northwest (26.4E 79.1N) and have a chat with Molly Jowett. Be sure to inquire about the village so she can mark it on your map. You can trade with her for an Atomic Battery, but it will cost you a good amount of items (keep in mind that she doesn’t like Bandages). If you’re running low on supplies, consider hunting down outlaws to gather weapons you can sell. After the trade, you’ll obtain the “Molly Sold a Battery to the Vicar” lead.

Wyndham Village (Vicar McHenry)

A Reward for Your Discretion

Follow Molly’s directions to get to “the Village,” specifically Wyndham Village. From there, go to St. Katherine’s Church (33.0E 78.9N) to speak with Vicar McHenry about the murder. Agree to remain silent, and in return, he’ll provide you with an Atomic Battery and a key to access it upstairs. Head to the eastern corner, find the staircase, and ascend to discover a large chest. Use the key on the chest to retrieve the Atomic Battery.

Casterfell Woods / Skethermoor (Castle Ruins)

Explore Deep into the Castle Ruins

Enter the castle ruins located in the southwest corner of the Casterfell Woods map (19.6E 83.7N). On the far left side of the area, you’ll find a Castle Key on the counter; take it and use it on the keyhole near the fireplace in the banquet hall.

Make your way past the High Priestess on the upper floor (a standard enemy, so she should go down easily). After defeating her, you’ll notice a strange smoke rising from her body. Proceed down the stairs to find an Atomic Battery.

Casterfell Woods (Billy Gorse)

Burn Salves Will Be Beneficial

Seek out Billy Gorse at 21.5E 89.6N in Casterfell Woods. Besides a Consumables Manual and Poison Bombs, he also sells an Atomic Battery. Purchasing both the Manual and the Battery will require a decent amount of resources, but crafting Burn Salves will be beneficial, as he purchases them for a higher price.

Take Down B.A.R.D. Robots

Time to Gather Your Courage

Taking down B.A.R.D. Robots (those massive brown and yellow mechanical foes) can reward you with an Atomic Battery. While this task can be quite challenging in Atomfall, it is achievable if you utilize coverage and employ throwables like Molotov Cocktails along with distance weapons. It’s advisable to avoid trying this in Wyndham Village since the entire army will become hostile, unless you’re feeling particularly bold.
