Art of Vengeance: Completing Sega Villains DLC & Solving Its Secrets

The first major DLC for Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is now available, and it features an unusual focus on a multidimensional fight between Joe Mushashi and various Sega villains like Goro Majima, Death Adder, and Dr. Eggman.

This Sega Villains DLC not only allows you to battle some of Sega’s most infamous enemies but also adds several new unlockable items themed around these villains. These include new costumes and Ninpo abilities. Let’s explore how to unlock each of these.

Every Unlockable Outfit

Tyrant Warlord
Inspired by Death Adder from Golden Axe, the Tyrant Warlord costume is unlocked after you complete the Eternal War Dimension level. When you finish this stage, the outfit will be available in a treasure chest.

Mad Dog
This standout outfit resembles Goro Majima’s snake-skin suit from Yakuza. To unlock it, beat the City Streets Dimension level and open the chest at the end of the stage.

Evil Genius
Based on Dr. Eggman, the Evil Genius outfit is unlocked by defeating the first Eggman boss in the Egg Zone Dimension. Before facing the second boss, you can grab the outfit from the chest.

Every Unlockable Ninpo

Golden Axe Ninpo
Unlocked by defeating Death Adder in the “The Warlord” level, this Ninpo works like a high-damage axe projectile, similar to the shuriken. Its main purpose is dealing damage, and it looks quite flashy.

Doppelganger Ninpo
Earned by defeating Goro Majima in the “The Mad Dog” stage, Doppelganger is a unique Ninpo where Joe summons clones to attack in multiple directions. It’s especially useful for filling up the Execution Gauge and is considered one of the most helpful Ninpo in the DLC.

Egg Bomb Ninpo
Unlocked after beating the second Eggman boss in the Egg Zone Dimension. This Ninpo can only be activated while jumping, making it somewhat limited, but it deals high damage, making it a solid choice for the tougher modes.

DLC Boss Rush Mode
Once you complete all levels of the expansion, a special Boss Rush mode unlocks. Similar to the original game mode but far more challenging, it pits you against tough bosses in rapid succession. This mode offers an extra challenge for players who want to test their skills even further.
