Arms Week is a special event in Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate, bringing new weapons to hunt for. During this time, Ada-1 chooses a weapon type to focus on, introduces fresh volatile mods, and offers an exclusive prototype weapon. These weapons often feature unique designs or perk setups not available elsewhere.
While only a few of these weapons are obtainable each event, it’s useful to know the best possible perk combinations—or “god rolls”—for each, in case they become farmable later. Here are the top perk setups for each Arms Week weapon, optimized for both PvE and PvP play.
Phoneutria Fera
Although technically a hand cannon, it functions more like a primary shotgun with a spread shot frame, firing buckshot instead of a single projectile. Its slow rate of 100 RPM doesn’t excel at close-range kills like a special ammo shotgun, but it’s effective against weaker enemies. The key perk, One-Two Punch, is less effective here, providing only a 75% melee damage boost instead of the usual 150%. It’s still handy for melee builds when combined with Proximity Power for increased melee stats, but it doesn’t replace shotguns for melee-focused PvE. In PvP, the weapon’s limited range makes it tricky to use effectively, though rolls with range perks and Slideshot can help in duels.
Best Phoneutria Fera Roll
- PvE: Full Bore, Accurized Rounds, Proximity Power or Threat Detector, One-Two Punch or Incandescent, with Range masterwork.
- PvP: Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Slideshot, One-Two Punch, with Range masterwork.
Ribbon Tail
Typically a utility trace rifle for PvE, Ribbon Tail skips the usual Shoot to Loot or Attrition Orbs perks but offers strong damage perks to compete with traditional special weapons. Combining Subsistence with Redirection allows damage to increase significantly on red-bar enemies, making it a solid choice for tougher encounters. If you’re aiming for a DPS role, pairing Relentless Strikes with Elemental Honing can create a significant damage spike on Prismatic. However, this weapon isn’t highly recommended for PvP due to the lack of good ammo economy perks.
Best Ribbon Tail Roll
- PvE: Smallbore, Projection Fuse, Subsistence, Redirection or Killing Tally, with Range masterwork.
- PvP: Not recommended for use.
Synanceia
This wave frame sword features Eager Edge in the second column, making it an excellent choice for speedruns and versatile combat. It can also roll with Attrition Orbs to spawn Orbs of Power, or Sharp Harvest for extra special ammo, useful in double-special loadouts. For damage output, aiming for Relentless Strikes combined with Elemental Honing provides a strong DPS boost, especially for clearing adds.
Best Synanceia Roll
- PvE: Blade: Jagged Edge, Guard: Swordmaster’s Guard, first column: Sharp Harvest, second column: Relentless Strikes or Eager Edge, masterwork: Impact.
- PvP: Jagged Edge, Swordmaster’s Guard, Wellspring, Eager Edge, Impact.
Trachinus
The first rapid-fire slug shotgun offers a high fire rate with respectable stats, comparable to Heritage from Deep Stone Crypt. Its excellent aim assist, range, and handling make it a strong option. For PvE, Rimestealer with Headstone helps generate Frost Armor, and high aim assist and range perks like Killing Wind and Encore can boost its performance, especially after landing a precision shot.
Best Trachinus Roll
- PvE: Smallbore, Accurized Rounds, Rimestealer, Headstone, with Range masterwork.
- PvP: Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Killing Wind, Encore, with Range masterwork.
These setups maximize weapon effectiveness across different situations, providing a solid foundation as you farm or battle in Destiny 2 during Arms Week.
