Instead of choosing passive abilities that improve automatically or short-term perks for each player, like in Escape From Tarkov and Hunt Showdown, ARC Raiders takes a different route. It offers a long-term skill tree that you can customize over time. The progression system in ARC Raiders only provides 75 skill points out of a total of 135, which means you’ll need to plan carefully to avoid mistakes that could cause problems later.
Fortunately, most skill choices in ARC Raiders have benefits tailored to your play style. You can plan your build beforehand using Metaforges’ Skill Tree Builder. Whether you want a reliable setup or prefer just focusing on playing the game without stressing over skills, the paths below will give you an advantage in the dangerous world of ARC Raiders.

### Best Early Game Skills for ARC Raiders
#### Skills from Levels 1–20
The first skill you should prioritize outside the starting point is In-Round Crafting from the Survival path. You’ll unlock this after investing two points in Agile Croucher and Revitalizing Squat. Once you reach level 3, this skill becomes invaluable—one you’ll wish you had earlier.
This ability allows you to craft basic tools and supplies like Shield Rechargers, Bandages, and Grenades. It will greatly boost your chances of surviving longer in raids and help you save inventory space and credits by reducing the need to stockpile supplies beforehand.
After upgrading your crafting skills, focus on basic mobility abilities like Marathon Runner and Useful Lungs. These reduce stamina drain and increase your total stamina, which is essential since you’ll be running a lot in ARC Raiders.
To unlock Carry The Momentum and its stamina-free dodge rolls, spend three more points in the mobility tree, especially in Slip And Slide. This sliding mechanic is a quick way to escape danger.
Once you’ve improved your stamina and movement, invest your remaining two skill points before level 20 into Looter’s Instincts. It will give you an early boost to gather resources and set the stage for your next set of skills.

### Best Mid-Game Skills in ARC Raiders
#### Skills from Levels 20–45
Deciding how many skill points to allocate in the Survival tree is personal, but certain skills stand out. To unlock the powerful Security Breach ability—available after investing 36 points into Survival—you’ll need to continue building this tree.
For the next major upgrade, focus on finishing Looter’s Instincts to make resource gathering safer. Afterwards, add points to Revitalizing Squat and Silent Scavenger to improve stealth.
When you’re ready to go further, pick either Suffer In Silence—which boosts sneaking when critically hurt—or Good As New, which enhances stamina regeneration while healing. After choosing one, get Traveling Tinkerer to craft more gadgets on the fly, giving you a combat edge even with a basic loadout.
Max out Broad Shoulders for more carrying capacity, then spend points on One Raider’s Scraps and Agile Croucher before hitting level 45.

### Best End-Game Skills in ARC Raiders
#### Skills from Levels 45–75
Once you near the endgame, you’ll need to allocate 6 more points into the Survival tree to unlock Security Breach. This skill allows you to unlock high-value loot from Security Lockers on any map—an enormous advantage since few players invest in it.
The Conditioning tree offers powerful perks like Used To The Weight (less slowdown with shields), Gentle Pressure (quieter breaching), Proficient Pryer (faster unlocking), and Unburdened Roll (free dodge after shield break).
Invest your points into A Little Extra and Loading Arms afterward. These improve loot chances and reduce weapon weight, making your gear more manageable late-game.
While some skills like Effortless Roll and Calming Stroll sound useful, their in-game effects are minor. Focus instead on skills like Crawl Before You Walk, which boosts crawling speed—helpful for sneaky approaches or on your own during escapes.

### How to Reset Your Skill Tree in ARC Raiders
The game doesn’t have a traditional respec system or credits to reallocate skills. However, after reaching level 20, you can participate in Expeditions—scheduled every 8 weeks—that require gathering many resources and serve as an optional way to “reset” your skills.
During an expedition, you’ll lose all progress, stash items, blueprints, and quests, but you will keep cosmetics, map unlocks, seasonal buffs, and any bonuses from your current character. This allows you to experiment with new build strategies or fix mistakes with your skills, giving you a fresh start and a chance to catch up with more experienced players.
