If you’re working on the Connections puzzle today and feeling a bit stumped, you’re in luck! I found it challenging myself, particularly because I encountered one tricky category that caused me to pause for a while. At first, I was a bit perplexed, but I eventually found my way through it. Now, thanks to my efforts, I’m here to provide you with some helpful clues.

If you’re up for something different, I highly recommend tackling the daily Letter Boxed puzzle. It’s one of my favorites for relaxing play. This puzzle offers a variety of outcomes, and what I enjoy most about Letter Boxed is that it gives me the freedom to explore and experiment without the pressure of failure. While you do need to solve it within a 24-hour timeframe, you’re free to try any approach you like.

Hints for Today’s Connections Categories

Here are some hints to help you tackle today’s puzzle. One of the categories might trip you up since it has a group of words that seem to fit together, but actually don’t. You can use these hints to navigate through the puzzle more easily. Additionally, I found one of the categories peculiar, and you will likely understand why when you come across it.

• One category focuses on a color and four things associated with it.
• Another category features four words that indicate an abundance of something.
• One category represents something that contradicts the essence of the season—essentially out of season.
• The final category includes four words borrowed from another language.

Yellow Answers: Explained

It’s worth noting that CANARY and GOLD might mislead you due to the mention of MINE and COAL. Typically, I would associate all four of these words together, but I managed to avoid that trap since I tackled the green category first, which really shifted my approach to the puzzle today.

Green Answers: Explained

By solving this category first, I think I had a stroke of luck that helped me avoid the trickiest part of the puzzle.

Blue Answers: Explained

This category surprised me; it felt quite out of season. Initially, I connected GRINCH and NAUGHTY, thinking they related to misbehavior. However, it was amusing to realize that two of these words are linked to characters who ultimately did embrace the spirit of Christmas in their own ways.

Purple Answers: Explained

Even though ELLA seemed like a name, I was able to recognize it as a pronoun. My experience with Spanish and other Romance languages helped with the rest of the words, although I’m still refreshing my memory about MAYO.
