Visit Race Park to play unique multiplayer game modes
While the main focus of any racing game is the Grand Prix, you’ll likely want to play with friends soon after. Luckily, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds includes seven multiplayer modes accessible from Race Park. To start, go into Race Park from the main menu after selecting your racer, vehicle, and customizations. In this area, seven tents are set up, each offering a different game mode.
If you want to try a single race without running a full Grand Prix, this is where to find that option. You can also customize a race with up to 12 tracks—perfect if you want more than the usual three. This allows you to enjoy quick, standalone races or longer, custom sessions.
You can also play Race Park games alone, fighting against AI-controlled Rivals with rewards for progression. There’s no need to wait for friends to log in, and you can practice on your own before jumping into multiplayer.
Triple Team Games
Start a triple team game in Race Park. The goal here is for three teams of four players each to collect as many Gold Rings as possible during three laps around the track. The more rings your team gathers, the faster your maximum speed becomes. The total rings collected over all three laps count towards the team’s score, and the team with the most rings will earn extra points—10 points for topping the leaderboard.
To increase your chances of collecting Rings, it’s wise to split from your teammates, spreading out on the track. Items like Omochao help, as they fly alongside your vehicle dropping Rings automatically for you to pick up.
Triple Team Ring Grab
In this mode, three teams of four race to gather as many Rings as they can during three laps. Each team’s total Rings are added together, and the team with the highest sum wins. Success depends on spreading out to let Rings respawn—clustering can block your chances.
Double Team
Divided into two groups of six players, this mode is about attacking the opposing team. The objective is to land hits on opponents using Attack items like Red and Green Fists, Monster Trucks, and Slicers. The team that hits the most enemies wins the round and earns extra points. Since only Attack items are available here, expect more aggressive gameplay. Be mindful not to cluster with opponents, as that can limit item box access. Leaving some space allows better item respawns.
Double Team Dash Panel
Again in two teams of six, your task is to hit as many Dash Panels and Dash Gates as possible during the race, especially around the finish lines. The course is designed with extra opportunities for these boosts, which will be added to your team’s total score. The team that hits the most boosts gets 10 bonus points.
Other Race Park Game Modes
Extremely fun modes include:
– Quick Match: Race solo against up to 12 players, with computer-controlled racers filling empty slots. This is perfect if you want a fast, competitive race without setting up a full tournament.
– Extreme Match: Race with only the most destructive items, like Monster Trucks and Red Fists. This all-out event is for players who love chaos and big hits, with no items from regular races available.
– Custom Match: Set your own rules for multiplayer races. Choose which items appear, pick specific tracks, set round counts, difficulty levels, and customize how Frenzy works on certain tracks. It’s a flexible way to personalize your multiplayer experience.
