One of the side quests added in the Mega Dimension DLC is called “Side Mission 175: Romance avec Purrloin.” This quest isn’t just a fun quiz about Purrloin in Pokémon Legends: Z-A; it’s also the only way to obtain the TM for Fake Out in the game. As the title suggests, the quest centers around Purrloin.
The quest giver, Frousse, has a date that depends on him sounding like a Purrloin expert. Giving the wrong answers means the date is unlikely to happen. You can help Frousse improve his chances and earn a good TM by following the instructions below to find and complete this side quest in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
How to Start Romance Avec Purrloin
The side quest becomes available after completing the mission “Hyperspace Mission 09: Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No. 5.” You can access it after leaving Hyperspace during “Mission 11: Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No. 6.” In the game, you’ll find Frousse near the northeastern corner of Legends: Z-A’s map, just behind the fast travel point for Wild Zone 15, opposite Cafe Action. Look for him standing with a Purrloin to his left. Talking to him will start the quest.
Finding Frousse and Purrloin in the Mega Dimension DLC
Once unlocked, the quest begins near the northeast corner of the map, behind the Wild Zone 15 fast travel point. Approach Frousse to start the mission.
Romance avec Purrloin Walkthrough and Answers
After triggering the quest, you need to speak with Frousse again to proceed with the date. During his date with Felidie, which the game shows as a cutscene, you’ll be asked three questions related to Purrloin. You must answer all correctly; a single wrong answer results in Frousse failing the date, blacking out, and respawning in front of the cafe. You can retry the date as many times as needed. To save time, here are the correct answers:
-
The first question asks, “What type of Pokémon is Purrloin?”
- Correct answer: “Devious Pokémon”.
-
The second question is, “Why does Purrloin steal things from people?”
- Correct answer: “It just does that for fun”.
-
The third question asks, “What move can Purrloin surprisingly not learn on its own?”
- Correct answer: “Foul Play”.
When all questions are answered correctly, Felidie agrees to go out again, saying, “Sure thing!” Frousse, pleased that his plan worked, celebrates with you. Although he had to look up the basics about Purrloin, he seems eager to learn more for their next meeting.
Reward
Upon successful completion, Frousse rewards you with the TM for Fake Out and 2,200 Poke Dollars. Fake Out is a unique move that guarantees the opponent will flinch if it’s the most-used move in battle, making it a handy addition to your team.
