Cooking in Where Winds Meet is more than just a survival mechanic; it encourages you to explore and interact with the detailed world around you. Whether you’re gathering ingredients, discovering recipes, or facing various encounters, each part of the game helps you sharpen your skills, giving you a better chance to stay in the fight longer.
Cooking allows you to make dishes that restore health and provide temporary buffs that can significantly impact battles. Below, you’ll find all the essential information about recipes and how to master cooking in the game.
How to Cook
To cook in Where Winds Meet, you first need to learn the recipes. While some recipes are known initially, others need to be unlocked by meeting specific conditions, listed in the table below. Once you’ve unlocked a recipe, you’ll need ingredients, which can range from animal meat to fungi, typically easy to find in the game world. If you’re missing anything, you can visit locations marked on your map to forage, fish, or hunt for the needed items.
When you have all the ingredients, approach a fire with a pot or spit over it. Interact to open the cooking menu, where you can prepare dishes or get help with ingredient gathering. Some recipes are simple and heal small amounts, while others can provide powerful buffs like increased attack strength.
