Hornet may not want to settle down permanently in Pharloom in Hollow Knight: Silksong, but having a cozy spot to return to during a long journey through dangerous areas can be very helpful. Especially when that place is as charming and comfortable as your own bellhome.
Getting this achievement takes some effort and time, but every kind act you do will come back to reward you ten times. The residents of Bellhart won’t let you leave empty-handed; they’ll make great neighbors in the process.
How to Unlock the Bellhome
First, you need to find and save Bellhart. This involves defeating Widow and completing the Threadspun Town quest. Once Bellhart is open, keep exploring Pharloom and unlocking new areas, but make sure to check the Wish board regularly. There are three key quests you should complete:
- Donate 250 Rosaries to start rebuilding the town.
- Continue exploring Pharloom and complete the two courier quests in Bellhart. Completing these will unlock a courier service that’s very useful for earning Rosaries.
While doing this, you might wonder if Silver Bells and Crawbug Clearing are needed for the town’s restoration. It’s unclear, but if you haven’t seen the Restoration of Bellhart option on the Wishboard after reaching the Citadel, finish the courier quests first and then do those side quests. The Pinmaster’s Oil isn’t necessary for this process.
Building Your Bellhome
Once Bellhart is open, talk to Pavo. Make sure he has nothing new to say as you expand your map. The construction of your Bellhome will be complete once you find more benches and explore further areas. When finished, talking to Pavo again will give you the Bellhome Key.
Your Bellhome will be located on the third level of the town, above the Pinmaster and Relic Seeker. Use the Bellhome Key to unlock the door and claim the Resident trophy or achievement. At first, it only has a bed for resting, but now you can start decorating.
How to Decorate the Bellhome
After getting the key, you can buy decorations from Frey at the Bellhart general store. Most are available immediately, except the Spa, which requires two other home upgrades first. Decorations are pretty pricey and don’t provide practical benefits, but they make your home look nice.
Here’s the full list of upgrades and their costs:
Upgrade | Price | Description |
---|---|---|
Desk | 380 Rosaries | Allows you to read Relics you’ve submitted to the Relic Seeker. |
Gleamlights | 320 Rosaries | Lights up the inside of your home. |
Bell Lacquer | 520 Rosaries | Lets you paint the outside of your Bellhome in your choice of color. |
Personal Spa | 1,100 Rosaries | Adds a second floor with a small hot spring that regenerates Silk and Masks. |
Note: The Bell Lacquer painting takes some time to apply. You can watch the progress while exploring, but once it’s finished, the color becomes permanent, so choose wisely.
A bug exists where you might not be able to talk to Frey again after buying a house upgrade. To fix it, leave the area and come back or make Frey sing by using Needolin.
Decorating Your Bellhome
Most decorations are quick to set up and become available once the cutscene ends. However, the Bell Lacquer will take some time to dry; you can see the progress as you go about your adventures. Once it’s done, the color you chose will be permanent.
Gathering Money Quickly
The total cost for all Bellhome upgrades is 2,320 Rosaries, which might seem overwhelming. But there’s a way to earn all that in less than 45 minutes without risking any Rosary loss.
This relies on the courier quests you should have done earlier. If Tipp & Pibb’s Courier Service is unlocked in Bellhart, you can start making deliveries, which pay very well.
Sometimes, the Queen’s Egg delivery serves as a special task that doesn’t repeat, so it’s smart to complete those first and grab any Rosaries along the way. For example, we completed the Pilgrim’s Rest run, earning about 239 Rosaries every four minutes, using the Silkshot tool and Pollip Pouch. If Pilgrim’s Rest isn’t available, Bone Bottom is a decent alternative, netting around 128 Rosaries after defeating fishermen along the route.
To perform the run efficiently:
- Clear Greymoor of the scissor bug.
- Dash right to reach the room with another scissor bug; defeat him from below if possible.
- Use your trap to quickly kill the trident bug and then eliminate the other bug before climbing up.
- Use your trap to clear bugs in the pilgrim’s room.
- Dash to Far Fields, falling to the right for the first wind sections.
- Switch to the left side and gently fall onto the next shortcut.
- Drop off the package at Pilgrim’s Rest.
- Return through the Bellway, stopping by the target practice room to take out bugs.
- Repeat the route as needed.
Doing this run repeatedly is also a good way to stockpile Rosaries for future expenses like the Multibind tool or the Architect’s Supply. Afterward, you can convert your Rosaries into necklaces with Frey at the shop.
This method is fast, safe, and can help you quickly afford all home upgrades without risking your progress.
