Bones serve as a valuable resource in Aloft for acquiring late-game gear and materials. However, they are relatively rare in the Red Cliffs, which is the game’s third biome. This area, inspired by a summer theme, presents a hot environment that can make exploration challenging. Beneath these dry conditions, you’ll discover the remains of what were once thriving habitats.

Bones have multiple purposes; you can transform them into pigments for customization. Nonetheless, we suggest utilizing them to craft essential gear that will aid you in overcoming formidable foes and gathering resources across the more challenging islands.

How to Obtain Bones

Bones are a late-game resource you can collect after reaching the third biome. They are scattered throughout the islands of Red Cliffs, but can be somewhat elusive. To find them, you’ll need to sail to various islands in the area. You can gather bones only in an ecosystem that is entirely pristine.

You won’t find small skeletal remains in unhealthy ecosystems; only larger bones can be collected in clean areas.

How to Utilize Bones

Sharp Bone is showcased in the crafting menu in Aloft.

You can use bones to create Sharp Bones by combining two bones and one Hardstone. When you mix bones with other materials, you can craft a variety of Bone Tools and Weapons.

Bones can also be used in the Pigment Pool to create Bone White Pigment, useful for dyeing items.

If you craft a Bone Tipped Arrow, you can take down enemies more effectively. This arrow requires two feathers, one Darkwood, one Sharp Bone, and one Waxed Rope to create.
