A Unique Debut
One of the most exciting features of the Water Festival is the introduction of Tatsugiri, a brand-new Pokémon from Generation 9. This Pokémon will appear in three distinct forms during One Star Raid Battles based on your location: the Curly Form for trainers in Europe, the Middle East, or Africa; the Droopy Form in the Americas; and the Stretchy Form in the Asia-Pacific region.
The chance to catch Tatsugiri makes participating in this event particularly exciting.
In addition to Tatsugiri, you’ll also see 15 Water-type Pokémon with increased spawn rates throughout the festival. Expect to find Squirtle, Slowpoke, Krabby, Staryu, Magikarp, and more, many of which can also appear in their shiny forms.
Pokémon GO Water Festival 2025 Raids
New Raids to Tackle
In addition to wild spawns, the event will introduce new Pokémon into raid battles. In One Star Raids, Shellder and Ducklett will make a return, but all eyes will be on Tatsugiri as the main attraction.
Three-Star Raids will also feature some familiar faces, including Kingler, Lapras (Scarf), and Gyarados from Gen 1, along with Azumarill from Gen 2. With the right team and strategies, players can defeat these raids solo, although it’s definitely easier to take them on with friends. Some of these Pokémon can be effective for taking down Team GO Rocket Leader Giovanni.
Exciting Rewards Await at the Water Festival 2025
As part of the festivities, there will be attractive rewards for all participants this year. For example, using a Rainy Lure module will extend its effectiveness to two hours. Players who achieve nice throws or better will earn extra candies. Moreover, several rare shiny Pokémon, including Staryu, Starmie, Tirtouga, and Carracosta, will be available at increased rates. Make sure to look out for these rare catches during the event!
