If you’re looking to upgrade your model series device, here’s a simple guide to help you do it confidently.
First, you can increase your device’s memory up to 2 sticks of 8 GB DDR3L1600 RAM. This upgrade can improve performance especially if you’re multitasking or dealing with large files.
For storage, HP offers mSATA drives up to 64 GB for your model. However, it’s important to note that NVMe SSDs aren’t compatible with this series, nor are they supported in the newer T630 models.
If you’re thinking about replacing or adding storage, I installed a 256 GB M.2 SATA SSD into my T630, and it worked without any issues. So, a larger SATA SSD can be a good option if you need more space.
For detailed instructions and specifications, you can refer to the hardware service guide here: Hardware Reference Guide.
Now, if you’re interested in upgrading your Wi-Fi card, check whether your notebook has the right antenna wires for the HMC Wi-Fi card slot. This is necessary for the new card to work properly.
The parts list for this device indicates it can use the Intel Wi-Fi card with part number W5Z09UA, which is an Intel 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combination card. You can find this part on HP PartSurfer using this link: HP PartSurfer.
The specific part number to look for is 798575-001, which is the WLAN 802.11ac internal 7260NV HMC module.
However, my recommendation is to use a dual-band USB Wi-Fi adapter instead. Finding this exact internal card part number can be difficult, and not every Wi-Fi card is compatible—installing an incompatible one may cause problems. Using a reliable USB Wi-Fi adapter is a simpler and more straightforward solution.
