According to Lebanon 24, the cause of Rahbani’s death was liver cirrhosis. It’s important to highlight that Ziad Rahbani was the son of the legendary Lebanese singer Fairouz and passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 26.
The Lebanese and Arab arts communities were deeply shaken by the news of the passing of this renowned artist at the age of 69.
Some reports suggest that Fairouz’s health declined after learning of her son’s death, prompting her family to seek medical attention for her.

Ziad Rahbani was a distinguished Lebanese composer, pianist, playwright, and political analyst. He was the son of Fairouz, a prominent figure in Arab music, and Assi Rahbani, one of the pioneers of modern Arabic musical expression.
At just 17 years old, Ziad composed his first song for his mother, Fairouz. His debut on stage was in “Al Mahatta,” where he played the role of a detective. He later appeared in the Rahbani Brothers’ production “Mays el Rim” as a police officer.
