Digital Phablet – The renowned Lebanese composer Ziad Rahbani passed away at the age of 69, with the exact cause of his demise still undisclosed, according to local media reports on Saturday.
The news of Ziad Rahbani’s death shook both the Lebanese and broader Arab artistic communities.
A number of fellow artists paid heartfelt tributes. Iraqi singer Shatha Hassoun remarked: “Legends never truly leave us; they live on forever. My deepest condolences to the Lebanese people for losing one of their iconic art figures, Ziad Rahbani. May he rest in peace.”
Lebanese actress Rola Hamadeh also expressed her sorrow, stating: “Ziad Rahbani. Words are insufficient to describe this loss. Such heartbreak.”

Who Was Ziad Rahbani?
Ziad Rahbani was a multifaceted Lebanese artist, known for his talents as a composer, pianist, playwright, and political analyst.
He was the son of Fairouz, one of the most prominent singers across the Arab world, and Assi Rahbani, a pioneer in modern Arabic music.
At just 17, Ziad composed his first piece for his mother, Fairouz. His debut on stage featured him playing the detective in “Al Mahatta.” He later appeared in the Rahbani Brothers’ production “Mays el Rim,” portraying a police officer.
