Digital Phablet – Can Yaman is embarking on a bustling global itinerary filled with major productions.
He’s currently in Italy and Spain for his newest projects, receiving widespread acclaim ahead of the debut of Sandokan, which is among Europe’s most awaited shows this year.
The period drama Sandokan officially premieres tonight, with Italy’s national broadcaster Rai1 airing the first two episodes consecutively. The series consists of eight episodes, which will continue airing on Monday evenings throughout December.
The international impact has already been substantial. Sandokan will be broadcast in the US, Canada, Russia, Portugal, and the UK, besides Italy. This wide distribution marks a significant milestone in Yaman’s international ascent and reflects the substantial investment behind the project.
Meanwhile, Yaman is deeply involved in another intense shoot in Spain. He is currently filming the romantic thriller “El Laberinto de las Mariposas” (The Butterfly Labyrinth) in the Canary Islands.
Alberto Ruiz Rojo and Iñaki Peñafiel are directing the eight-episode series, starring Yaman as Kaplan, an exceptionally skilled undercover agent. The story, penned by Ángela Obón and Daniel Corpas, is packed with action, suspense, and emotional intensity. Production is scheduled to wrap up in April, with filming continuing in Madrid and the Canary Islands. Yaman stars alongside María de Nati, Andrea Duro, Félix Gómez, Noa Rollón, Michelle Calvo, and Leander Vyvey, creating an impressive cast that adds excitement to the project.
Yaman’s schedule extends well beyond 2024. He is set to begin filming the second season of Sandokan in summer 2026, after completing The Butterfly Labyrinth. Additionally, he plans to work on a sitcom and a film in South America, returning for the third season of Sandokan in 2028.
