ALBAWABA – Karim Abdel Aziz is set to reprise his role in The Blue Elephant 3, as Turki Al-Sheikh promises a cinematic spectacle.
Following a recent post featuring His Excellency, Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh, alongside the Blue Elephant crew on his official Facebook page, public interest surged. His comment, “The Blue Elephant will be remarkable,” indicated that preparations are officially underway for this much-anticipated third installment of the film, celebrated as a highlight of Egyptian cinema.
This initiative underscores His Excellency’s commitment to enhancing Arab filmmaking and expanding its global reach. During an interview with Amr Adeeb, he expressed hopes of presenting The Blue Elephant 3 in a way that exceeds audience expectations, stating, “We aim to push The Blue Elephant beyond its traditional limits.” Given the project’s lucrative potential for all those involved, we fully endorse it. We believe that both Blue Elephant 3 and 4 will establish new benchmarks on a global scale, with current agreements in place for robust support of the fourth installment.”
It’s worth noting that the original film, released in 2014, blended mystery, drama, and psychological intrigue, achieving immense popularity among both audiences and critics.
In the upcoming film, psychiatrist Yehia Rashed returns to Abbasiya Hospital after a five-year hiatus. Tensions arise as he assesses the mental health of a criminal, who turns out to be an old friend.
However, some critics have raised concerns about the film. Historian Mahmoud Kassem pointed out that The Blue Elephant shares similarities with the 2007 New Zealand film, The Tattoo. Ahmed Murad, the author of the original novel, acknowledged that the book’s ending differs from that of the movie, with alterations made to better engage the audience.
