Digital Phablet – Trump responds after Trevor Noah’s Grammy joke threats a lawsuit

Trump has announced plans to sue comedian Trevor Noah following jokes made at the Grammy Awards about Trump and Jeffrey Epstein.

During the event, Noah humorously said, “Song of the Year—that’s a Grammy almost every artist aspires to, just like how Trump dreams of Greenland, which makes perfect sense since Epstein’s island is gone; he’s got to find a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.”

Trump has known Epstein for many years but claims he was unaware of Epstein’s criminal activities. He states they parted ways around 2004. There’s no evidence that Trump ever visited Epstein’s private island, and Epstein’s victims have not accused him of any wrongdoing. The U.S. Justice Department has confirmed that allegations against Trump are false.

A Clinton aide in 2020 clarified that the former president had never visited Epstein’s private island, Little St. James. Clinton has not been implicated in any misconduct.

Following Noah’s joke, Trump responded, “I am instructing my lawyers to file a lawsuit.”

On his Truth Social platform, Trump posted, “Trevor Noah falsely claimed that I and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. That’s simply not true! I cannot speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island or anywhere near it. Until tonight’s false and damaging statement, I’ve never been accused of such—a fact even the Fake News Media cannot dispute. Noah needs to get his facts straight immediately.”

He also added, “Prepare yourself, Noah; I’m going to enjoy this!”

A tweet from Pop Base highlighted Trump’s reaction, stating, “Donald Trump slams the #GRAMMYs and threatens to sue Trevor Noah over Epstein Island joke: ‘It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of a MC… Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!’”

Epstein was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting sex trafficking charges, over a decade after he was convicted of soliciting a minor for sexual acts. In 1998, he purchased a private island where many survivors reported abuse and trafficking.

In recent years, Trump has pursued civil lawsuits against several media outlets, including the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

In December, he even took legal action against the BBC in Florida, suing for defamation and violation of trade practices related to edits made to a Panorama program, seeking substantial damages.

Trevor Noah, born in South Africa, hosted The Daily Show on Comedy Central for seven years and has become known for his sharp humor and commentary.
