Digital Phablet – Tiger Woods faces DUI charges after Florida rollover crash incident.
In an unexpected turn of events, Tiger Woods was detained following a rollover accident on Jupiter Island, Florida, without any injuries reported.
According to Martin County Sheriff John M. Budensiek, the crash occurred around 2:00 p.m. on South Beach Road near Woods’ residence. The investigation revealed that Woods was operating his Land Rover when he attempted to pass the vehicle ahead of him. To avoid a collision, he swerved and collided with the trailer’s rear, causing his vehicle to flip onto its side.
Sheriff Budensiek confirmed during a press briefing that Woods was alone in the car and was able to exit through the passenger side. Neither Woods nor the other involved driver sustained injuries.
Evidence pointed to signs of “imbalance” and Woods’s refusal to undergo further testing. Despite a breathalyzer reading of 0.00, authorities observed indications of “impaired concentration or emotional state.” Woods declined to take a urine test, leading to charges of driving under the influence (DUI), property damage, and refusing a legally mandated examination.
Authorities classified these charges as misdemeanors. Bodenczyk noted that Woods appeared “sluggish” at the scene, likely due to recent alcohol consumption.
Despite the negative BAC result, officials noted Woods showed signs of compromised mental or emotional state. His refusal to submit to a urine test resulted in legal charges for both DUI and property damage.
This isn’t Woods’s first encounter with accidents. He has a history of multiple car-related incidents. Most recently, in 2021, his vehicle veered off a coastal road in Los Angeles at high speed, leading to severe leg and ankle injuries that caused speculation about potential amputation.
Another notable incident happened in 2009 when Woods crashed his car, attracting widespread media attention and criticism. Woods openly admitted fault, acknowledging his fallibility.
Recently, Woods had returned to competitive golf, participating in the TGL Finals on March 24 and preparing for the upcoming Masters tournament, raising concerns about his immediate future in the sport.
