Digital Phablet – Taylor Swift has surpassed President Trump’s record for the highest number of podcast listens within the first hour of an episode release.
Swift appeared on the show “New Heights” on Wednesday, hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce. The episode was broadcast live at 7 p.m., with Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and former Eagles player, engaging in a conversation with Swift for over two hours. Both The Daily Beast and Swift’s representatives confirmed that approximately 1.3 million viewers tuned in to watch the episode live on YouTube during the first hour after it launched.
This milestone is notable because Trump previously held the record for most listens during the initial hour of a podcast. A CNN analyst named Harry Enten pointed out that around 800,000 people viewed the first hour of Trump’s appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” in October 2024. The overwhelming viewer count for Swift’s episode caused YouTube to crash around the 1 hour and 44-minute mark.
Just before the episode’s release, Jason Kelce shared on X, “For this video to have 1.3 million views, it’s the epitome of numerology,” highlighting the significance of the milestone.
During this record-breaking episode, Swift revealed the cover art and track list for her upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” She also discussed regaining control of her masters and her personal relationship with Travis.
Interestingly, three months prior, Trump claimed on Truth Social that Swift was losing popularity because of him. Now, Swift has outpaced Trump in podcast views during the first hour of a new episode.
In a May post, Trump remarked, “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT’?”
By September 2024, after backing Kamala Harris for president, Trump publicly expressed his disapproval of Swift on social media. Since then, he has continued to make jokes about her, including mentioning her during a speech in April, when the Eagles visited the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX victory.
Swift has yet to publicly respond to Trump’s comments.
