Taylor Swift announces a new album. During an episode of the New Heights podcast on August 12, the singer discussed her upcoming 12th album, titled The Life of a Showgirl. The show was hosted by her boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce, along with his brother Jason Kelce.
“I’ve got something to show you,” Taylor shared in a video posted on Instagram. In the clip, she pulls a vinyl record out of a bright green bag; however, the album cover is blurry. Her website indicates that the cover art will be revealed at a later time.
In her note on the website, she adds, “This isn’t the official release date.” Pre-orders are expected to be shipped before October 13, with the official release date to be announced later.
This marks her twelfth album, following The Tortured Poets Department, which was released over a year ago. That album featured tracks like “So High School” and “The Alchemy,” inspired by her relationship with Travis.
The news of her new album is also shared on Kelsi’s Bros. podcast, symbolizing how they met and fell for each other. Travis, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, initially teased Taylor on a podcast after attending her Eras Tour concert in July 2023. Their relationship began shortly afterward.
At that time, Travis told Jason, “It annoyed me that she doesn’t speak before or after her shows because she sings over 40 songs and tunes her voice for each one.” He also expressed regret about not being able to give her a bracelet he made.
Their arguments escalated when Travis said something Taylor later described as “very powerful.” In December 2023, Taylor told TIME magazine, “We started talking immediately after and had a great time that nobody knew about. I’m grateful for that because it allowed us to get to know each other very well.”
Since then, they have become close, supporting each other’s careers, traveling internationally, and even joining each other’s teams for various endeavors. Taylor remarked, “Seeing him do what he loves inspires me, and we always support each other.” She added, “We don’t care who’s around — in fact, there are others who go to great lengths to keep their relationship private, and we’re really proud of how we’ve handled it.”
As the NFL season approaches, Taylor is expected to attend Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer for Travis, even if her appearances on game days sometimes draw criticism. “I’m just here to support Travis, and I don’t mind if I show up too often and upset some of Brad’s and Chad’s parents,” she said.
Since their relationship started, they have experienced many shared moments—traveling, supporting each other’s careers, and keeping their bond private. Their story continues to capture public interest, symbolizing their happiness and mutual support.
