Digital Phablet – The Syrian actor Ahmad Milly has passed away at the age of 80, according to an announcement from the Artists Syndicate in Syria on Sunday.
The Damascus branch of the Artists’ Syndicate shared on Facebook, “It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our esteemed colleague, artist Ahmad Milly.”
They added, “His funeral will take place today, Sunday, January 10, 2026, starting from the National Hospital in Damascus. Funeral prayers will be held after Asr at the Said Pasha Mosque in Rukn al-Din, and he will be laid to rest at the Al-Rashi family cemetery in Rukn al-Din. We will update you later with the details for condolences. We belong to God and to Him we return.”
The actor’s death followed a sudden health emergency earlier on January 10, which resulted in his admission to the intensive care unit at the National Hospital in Damascus.
Ahmad Milly is a Syrian artist of Kurdish descent, born in Damascus in 1949. He began his artistic journey in the early 1970s, joining the Syrian Artists’ Syndicate in 1972, and has since contributed to numerous stage productions, TV shows, films, and radio programs.
He is known for his role in the acclaimed series, Zaman Al Barghout, which aired for two seasons alongside some of Syria’s most notable stars.
