Syrian actor Samer Ismail has announced the start of filming in Istanbul for the Arabic version of the popular Turkish series “Endless Love” (Kara Sevda), promising a fresh and innovative production that will captivate audiences.
This 90-episode series will feature Samer Ismail and Valerie Abou Chacra, a pairing expected to attract significant attention. The trend of adapting Turkish series into Arabic productions is currently on the rise, with numerous projects in development. Following the efforts on Arabic adaptations of “The Ambassador’s Daughter” and “You Knock on My Door” in Turkey, work has now officially begun on the Arabic version of “Endless Love.”
In addition to Ismail and Abou Chacra, the series will feature actress Ward El Khal, who is making her return to the screen after nearly two years. Fans of the actress have warmly received this news, especially since she has often expressed her surprise at her absence from the artistic scene.
Ward El Khal is renowned as one of Lebanon’s most prominent actresses, with a successful career stretching back to the 1990s. She has starred in notable Lebanese series such as “The Storm Blows Twice,” “Women in the Storm,” and most recently, 2023’s “For Death.”
Furthermore, the Arabic adaptation will not be produced through Lebanese drama or the 2026 Ramadan season, but rather as a dubbed series by MBC, which has been actively expanding its portfolio of Arabic adaptations of Turkish shows. This move marks a strategic growth for MBC, which had paused Turkish series broadcasts in 2019 due to political sensitivities, but later resumed and intensified its focus on Turkish content by producing Arabic versions in Istanbul.
The network has renewed its commitment to dubbed dramas, extending their contracts for another five years and featuring Arabic versions of popular Turkish series. Current productions include “Sen Çal Kapımı” (You Knock on My Door), “Sefirin Kızı” (The Ambassador’s Daughter), and “Kara Sevda” (Endless Love). The latter remains one of Turkey’s most acclaimed series of the past decade, garnering high viewership worldwide since its debut in 2015. It tells a complex love story crafted across two seasons—35 episodes in the first season concluding in June 2016, and a continuation that started in September of the same year.

The series revolves around Kemal, an ambitious young engineer from a humble background, who falls for Nihan, a beautiful woman from a wealthy family. This innocent romance is challenged by the social realities and class divisions of their families. Nihan is eventually forced to marry Emir, a wealthy businessman with many secrets. The story intricately weaves between past and present, turning into a dramatic saga of conflicts, mystery, destiny, and revenge.
More than a simple love story, “Blind Love” thoughtfully examines themes of social class, authority, and justice. It raises profound questions about sacrifice and love amidst wealth and influence—topics that resonate deeply with Arab viewers.
The Arabic cast includes Lebanese and Syrian talents such as Samer Ismail, Yamen Hajjali, Abdel Hakim Qutaifan, Valerie Abou Chacra, and Ward El Khal. Filming is scheduled to take place in Turkey over several months, with broadcasts expected on television and the Shahid app in 2026.

Samer Ismail announced the start of filming in Istanbul for the Arabic remake of the Turkish hit “Endless Love” (Kara Sevda), promising a distinctive and groundbreaking project that will attract viewers.
This 90-episode series will star Samer Ismail and Valerie Abou Chacra, whose chemistry is expected to make waves. The adaptation of Turkish series into Arabic is currently expanding rapidly, with multiple projects underway. After preparations for the Arabic versions of “The Ambassador’s Daughter” and “You Knock on My Door” in Turkey, work on the Arabic version of “Endless Love” has now officially kicked off.
Along with Ismail and Abou Chacra, actress Ward El Khal will make her return to television after a nearly two-year break. Fans have warmly welcomed her comeback, especially given her past expressions of surprise at her absence from the industry.
Ward El Khal is well regarded as one of Lebanon’s most notable actresses, with a career spanning several decades. She has appeared in numerous prominent Lebanese series, including “The Storm Blows Twice,” “Women in the Storm,” and her latest role in 2023’s “For Death.”
Interestingly, Ward El Khal’s re-entry into television will not be through Lebanese drama or the Ramadan 2026 lineup, but via an Arabic-dubbed series produced by MBC, which has been actively involved in creating Arabic adaptations of Turkish dramas. This strategic move follows MBC’s decision to expand its dubbed content after halting Turkish series broadcasts in 2019 due to political concerns. The network then resumed and intensified its focus on Turkish stories by producing Arabic versions in Istanbul.
The channel has renewed its contracts for dubbed series for an additional five years, focusing on high-profile Turkish hits like “Sen Çal Kapımı” (You Knock on My Door), “Sefirin Kızı” (The Ambassador’s Daughter), and “Kara Sevda” (Endless Love). “Kara Sevda” remains one of Turkey’s most acclaimed series of the last decade, acclaimed worldwide since its 2015 debut, featuring stars like Burak Özçivit, Neslihan Atagül, and Ebru Urgancıoğlu. The series explores an intense love story across two seasons—initially 35 episodes ending in June 2016, followed by a second season beginning shortly after.

The production continues to thrive, with Turkish series being dubbed into Arabic and filmed in Turkey over several months. These productions are planned for broadcast on TV and streaming platforms like Shahid in 2026.
