Digital Phablet – Reports suggest the tragic deaths of filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife.
According to several sources who have spoken with the family, Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were reportedly killed by their son, Nick. However, this information has not yet been officially confirmed by law enforcement.
On Sunday, December 14, around 3:30 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to a residence to provide medical assistance. Upon arrival, they found two deceased individuals: a man aged 78 and a woman aged 68. Reports indicate that Rob and Michele were the victims.
The police state that 32-year-old Nick is alive and currently being questioned. No arrests have been made at this time.
Rob Reiner is a renowned actor, writer, and director, known for his work on several beloved Hollywood films. His debut as a director was with “This Is Spinal Tap” in 1984. He followed up with hits such as “Stand by Me” (1986), “The Princess Bride” (1987), “When Harry Met Sally…” (1989), “Misery” (1990), and “A Few Good Men” (1992).
He first gained widespread recognition for playing Mike on the Norman Lear television series “All in the Family.”
Born in 1947 in the Bronx, New York, Rob is the son of famed comedian Carl Reiner and actress and singer Estelle Lebost.
Rob was the director who introduced Michele to Rob, resulting in their meeting. The couple married in 1989 and had three children together.
Before this, Rob was married to Penny Marshall, who passed away in 2018 at age 75 due to complications related to diabetes.
In a 2016 interview with PEOPLE, Nick Reiner discussed his prolonged battle with drug addiction, which began in his early teens and led to periods of homelessness. He recounted cycling in and out of rehab starting around age 15, and as his addiction worsened, he drifted farther from home, spending extended periods homeless across multiple states.
Nick mentioned that the chaos from his addiction—nights, and sometimes weeks, sleeping outdoors—later inspired the semi-autobiographical film “Being Charlie,” which he co-wrote.
He expressed relief, saying, “I’ve been home for a long time now and have adjusted to living in L.A. and being with my family.”
He was previously married to Penny Marshall, who died in 2018 after battling complications from diabetes.
